Ford Galaxie 1968 Description
Im selling this for a friend...... Check out local 1-owner Los Angeles, Southern California car that hasdriven bythe same owner since new!! This is an amazing 1968 FORDGALAXIE 2 door hardtop. Now the original owners taste in cars have changed, he has decided that he wants to drive a custom hot rod and to sell the car that his kids grew up in going to the beach, family events, groceryshopping, a few first dates for the kids, then later taking the grand kids out...For a car that is 47 years old, shes in great shape with no body rot, rust or major body damage. The trunk floor is not been water damaged or rusted. It stillgleamsits original factory yellow paint ( Deck lid was repainteddue to tree branch damage back in the 70,s..) The "SPOTS" in the pics of the paint are bird crap!! I washed it the day before but the birds are faster then i could take pics!! Has nice fresh black pebble grainvinyltop installed with no soft metal spots or signs of corrosion Nice glass, windows crank up and down as it should. The solid black Interior is nice, not sun rotted or faded out with nice carpets, head liner. Divers seat has been reupholstered in soft cloth and the drivers door arm rest needs some attention.
ThisGalaxie features factory air conditioning, safety flasher lights, heater, clock, pushbuttonAm radio (all of which Ive never personal tried out..) power steering&brakes and even still has the original dealer plastic credit card like service card withe the owners name &addressand vin number imprinted..
The original 390 V8 engine has been rebuilt ( Have no records to show it thou..) starts right up and drives great!! No smoke, no knocks and has amazing pulling power. The odometer shows 38,000 miles but, im sure it has gone to more like 138,000 miles. Because of the Fords well known starting situation with the gear selector of the 60,s and early 70,s cars, the car must be started inneutral(Safety Switch situation) and then moved into park to hold the car still. My moms 1970 Torino does the same thing and shes owned it since 1971.. Tires are good but old...
Some of the body trimmoldings & badges were removed andtransferredto another Galaxie convertible thats being restored but has a very good look with out it over all..Ive described this car the best that I can recall... I will be happy to answer any questions...
For someone that wants a clean solid, good running, inexpensive, California classic ride, then this is the Galaxie for you.. Remember, Its not an economy car, its an "AMERICAN STEEL CAR" that has chrome bumpers and noairbagswith crank down windows that will get more attention then your 'dumb'Hondawith bolted on parts!! Ok, now I feel better... Anyhow, Just having fun!!
