Ford Mustang 1972 Description

I am the owner of the car for about the last six years. I have a box of paperwork and documentation from the previous longtime owner along with the Marti report and window sticker. As can be seen the car is well optioned including a rare tilt wheel and late introduction in 1972 of a 3/4 vinyl top. The Q code speaks for itself. The car has 97,000 documented miles and during the last 2,000 miles I had both the original motor and transmission rebuilt. The engine was rebuilt from top to bottom and I chose to use 10:1 pistons as opposed to 9:1 that were stock in the first year of the government mandated detuned motors. The Q code was a CJ (Cobra Jet) that produced 266 “net” horsepower from the factory. 1972 was also the first year horsepower was mandated to be rated at the lower SAE net ratings. There were only two engines offered in 1972 for the Mach 1, a 351 “H code which was rated at 177 horsepower and the rare Q code.

The interior of the car is original and like new. Every bulb, gauge and accessory work properly. I live in South Florida and the air conditioning works great. Overall the car runs great-very tight. It can be parked in my/your living room as there are ZERO LEAKS! Being that the car is unrestored I have taken pictures of the few spots on the exterior that could be left as they are or perfected (a few touch up spots and the front bumper.) I love the car the way it is. It is always garaged, driven within 45 days and never abused. I’m a sixty year old man who will find and buy another mostly original 1971 429 Mach 1-and go through everything like I did to my Q code.
