Ford F-150 1987 Description
I'm selling my 1987 Ford F-150 Lariat XLT. This is a Southern Truck. No Rust! ! ! Solid vehicle. I purchased it out of an estate last year here in Georgia. At the time the tires on the truck looked new, except for some dry rot. They were 11 years old. Replaced with new tires immediately. Put in a new A/C compressor around the same time and now it has ice cold A/C. I've had the following items replaced during the last year.Power Steering Pump, Steering box, New Gel Battery, New Tires, New A/C Compressor and new Power Window motors. Also had Transmission serviced with flush, new filter and fluid. Replaced all hoses and the belt with new. New engine coolant as well. Also replaced mufflers and most of the exhaust system. I forgot what type of mufflers were installed but the truck has a nice, deep rumble sound that my wife hates and I love. I also put on new running boards as well.
The paint on the vehicle is about 10 years old from what I was told by the daughter of the previous owner who passed away. She told me the bed was replaced because a large tree branch had fallen and put a good size dent in the side of the bed. It was a used bed so he had the whole truck painted at that time. The paint looks AWESOME! I guess when he replaced the bed he took out the second gas tank. The truck is set up for dual tanks but only has the rear tank. I didn't see a need to install the forward tank. Tank costs around $100.00.
The engine runs strong and the Transmission shifts smoothly. I just don't drive it much. I'm retired and don't drive to work every day. I just use it to go pick up stuff at Lowe's/ I've only put around 1,500 miles on it in the last 12 months. Decided I would rather have a smaller P/U instead of the Full Size P/U. The pictures tell the story on how nice this truck is. It HAS NOT been restored. I feel the odometer reading is accurate due to the way it drives and what the mechanics have told me. Considering the tires that came on it when I bought it from the estate were 11 years old and looked new (except for dry rot) supported my feeling the mileage is accurate. However, I can't guarantee it. Look at the pics and judge for yourself.
