Ford Model A 1930 Description
You are bidding on an immaculately restored 1930 Model A Ford Roadster Pickup. This vehicle is in mint conditioned except for a few tiny chips in the paint in places like the edge of a door or a tailgate latch. This Model A could certainly be a show car at regional Model A Ford events or certainly a good contender in a national show in a good driver category. You would be hard pressed to find a single scratch on this little truck including inside the pick up bed which gets all the wear and tear in any truck. It was completely rebuilt by a professional Model A restorer near San Diego California in the late 1980's or early 1990's who has since passed away. I purchased the vehicle in the fall of 2014 from a retired San Diego police officer who was the second owner after the restoration. He had owned it for about 12 years. It has always been well maintained and garage stored and driven occasionally since restoration. In the history of this vehicle, it is my understanding that it was probably originally sold at a Ford dealer in Long Beach in 1930. The restorer found it on an avocado farm in the 1980's where it was being used to move avocados from the grove to a sorting barn. He acquired it and did the restoration thereafter. It is clear that the frame and body and steering and brakes have been perfectly restored. I believe the drive train has also been perfectly restored since it drives and shifts perfectly. Apparently the father of the man who restored this truck had worked for the K.R. Wilson company a long time ago and since that company made machine tools for work on Ford vehicles, the restorer decided to paint the name of that company on the doors and the tailgate. It is a nice touch that enhances this great restoration. If you Google K.R. Wilson you can learn all about them. An inspection of the underside of the vehicle reveals that it is just as immaculate as the rest of this little truck. Included with the vehicle is a set of black wooden stake sides for the bed made by the prior owner and a foot locker full of Model A books and manuals including the clear glass wind wings for both sides of the windshield. The black vinyl top is removable but does not fold down. The bench seat is upholstered in the same black material. Any collector would be proud to own this wonderfully restored and great running all original little truck. It almost looks as if it just came out of the Ford factory a few days ago.
