Ford Mustang 1967 Description
Built on March 30th, n Dearborn Michigan, his 1967 Mustang Fastback GT390, -speed has recently received a complete rotisserie restoration. The car is a factory S-code car finished in its correct Candy Apple Red paint over Black Vinyl bucket seats.
The Fastback was media blasted down to bare metal at the start of the restoration and was then rebuilt from the ground up. The car is exceptionally detailed down to every last square inch of the undercarriage which was done to match the top of the car. The paint is Standox base/clear and has been sanded and buffed to a mirror shine. The bumpers are new chrome and the original stainless was refinished and polished out.
The 390 motor was hot tanked and magged. It was then bored and honed and the internals were balanced. The heads were reworked and the motor was built with largely stock internals. It makes great, eliable power and lets out a nice rumble via the dual exhaust system. The transmission was rebuilt using parts from David Kee Top Loader and the factory 3.25 Limited Slip rear axle was completely gone through as well. The engine compartment is a highly detailed thing of beauty and is clean as a whistle.
The interior features all new parts from Mustangs Unlimited and looks factory clean. All of gauges were rebuilt by a specialist and are in all good working order. Three new factory style harnesses were used to replace the engine, nterior and rear harnesses giving the car a completely fresh electrical system.
Every last piece of the suspension and steering system came off during the restoration and all of the hard, eusable parts were media blasted prior to reassembly. The rest of the components are all new parts sourced mostly from Mustangs Unlimited giving the car a tight new feel. The steering box and power steering pump were both replaced as were all of the accompanying lines and hoses.
