1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 Fastback

Very desired Wimbledon White/Blue stripe GT500! One of only 445 produced and very nicely optioned! An early car with factory ducted rear brakes, 6 Auto, ower steering & brakes, ooling package, nd more! Very original, ow ownership history, nd showing only 64,400 actual miles! Wonderful collection piece!!

Shelby American’s success in dealership showrooms was certainly peaking in 1967 with newly revised attributes on the Mustang platform that gave it a much more performance oriented appearance. Only the Fastback body style were available in 1967, hich was transformed using a fiberglass front hood that extended out an additional 3 inches, unctional hood scoops, ock down pins, enter grill fog lamps, iberglass rear deck with integrated spoiler, ougar taillights, nd upper & lower side scoops. Unique to early production cars, he lower scoops were ducted functionally to aid in brake cooling. This would be the first year the big block GT500 would be offered to the public. Optioned with a 428ci Police Interceptor V8 mounted with 2×4 Holley 600cfm carburetion and aluminum intake manifold, ts output was rated at 335 horsepower! Arguably the most sought after and desired among Shelby enthusiasts worldwide, he 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 is forever cemented into the blue-chip muscle car investment category.

This 1967 Shelby GT500 Fastback is finished in factory code correct Wimbledon White over Black interior. Having had just one exterior repaint since new, t remains largely original throughout. Optioned with its number’s matching 428ci Police Interceptor V8 fitted with its original, ual reverse mounted Holley 600cfm carburetors, actory aluminum intake manifold, obra oval air cleaner, ylinder heads with Cobra Lemans finned aluminum valve covers, nd exhaust manifolds! It’s now fitted with electronic spark ignition for easier tuning and driving. The factory, riginal dual-point distributor is included with the sale. Other features include C6 automatic transmission, ower disc brakes, ower steering, -point shoulder harnesses, xtra Cooling Package (transmission cooler), port Deck folding rear seat, eluxe Kelsey-Hayes Mag Star wheels (now fitted with Shelby cast aluminum 10-spokes), .55 Detroit-Locker rear axle, nterior Décor Group with Cobra seatbelts, 40-mph speedometer, 000 rpm tachometer, nd Stewart Warner oil pressure and amp gauges under the center dash round out the entire Shelby package.

This nearly all original example survives with just 64,427 miles on the odometer since new. As a rather early production unit (#320), t original served as a Shelby Company Vehicle for employee, en Miller for the first 10 months of completion. Ken’s territory was in the Mayfield, H area, o as a promoter of the new GT500, e was believed to have showcased this car at Ohio drag strips on the weekends to entice potential Shelby buyers by beating local competition on the track! This car went on to sell to its first registered owner, illie Steele, n Southfield, ichigan on November 30th, 967. As an early car, t sports the highly desired functional, ucted rear scoops. It traded hands to only a few owners over the years that included Dale Bungee- Senior Environmental Control Engineer and Senior Construction Project Manager for Ford Motor Company, nd later to Duane Banks, nd finally longtime Shelby collector Paul Rebmann. It has been showcased around the Dearborn, I area many times and includes AutoFest at Greenfield Village, etroit Autorama, nd most recently at the Ford World Headquarters for the “50 Years of Mustangs” display during the month of April 2014.

It will be complete with Deluxe Marti Report, how pictures, nd a photo of the original Ford factory stamp underneath the original Shelby plate for proper identification. Recent service included completely overhauled transmission with new auxiliary cooler & lines, our new shocks, orsion bar bushings, olyurethane sway bushings and end links, ebuilt steering rack, ew brake booster & master cylinder, ll new brakes & hardware, ront brake hoses, ll new exhaust system, riveshaft u-joints, nd more. All recent service receipts available will be provided. Also included with the sale will be the original dual point distributor (C5AF-12127-E) and original radio. The ignition is now electronic Multi-Spark Discharge and the radio a newer AM/FM/Cassette unit probably installed in the 1970’s. All other components are original including the block, eads, luminum intake manifolds, olley 600cfm carburetors, xhaust manifolds, tc.

This true blue chip investment is likely the most desired of all color combination, nd having lived a life totaling only 64,427 miles thus far, hould prove to be a sound one!
