Ford F-100 1961 Description
I got this pickup from a lady whose husband had passed away. He had loved unibodies and owned 9 for building and parts. This pickup was already painted mint green but had no engine. It already had a 1978 Continental front clip welded to the frame for independent suspension. All thesteering and suspension was either repaired or replaced. I had large front calipers and rotors installed on the front spindles from MP Power Brakes and the rear is the original drum brakes. They are fed by an ABS Power Brake HydroBoost kit and billet master cylinder. The engine is a 460 CID and built to 450hp. It has Edelbrock heads and intake with a Holley 750 double pumper. The transmission is a manual 5 speed ZF and cruises 80 mph at 2400 rpm with 4:10 real axle ratio. The fuel tank is mounted in the rear center frame. The paint is two tone called Sunset Orange and Beige Metallic with painted OE rims. The electrical is all new with a painless wiring harness with power window wiring (should the new owner wish to install them). This harness lights a Dakota Digital XHS Dash, alogen headlights, lectric fuel pump, nd Malloy ignition system. The stereo sounds good too. I also have a dual fan relay kit to operate the cooling fans with the A/C Control. This vehicle started as a toy hauler as there is a Class V receiver in the rear that also protects the fuel tank. It would need the brake monitor and wiring ran if you want power to a trailer with electrical brakes. The more I worked on this build, he better it turned out. With the Billet Specialties serpentine drive belt system, nd the Classic Auto air kit. All that is missing is billet wheels and tires to take this beauty to the car show.
