GMC C1500 Long Bed 1970 Description
$1.00 Starting bid and NO RESERVE! Bid with confidence 100% positive feedback since 2004!1970 GMC C1500 Long Bed. This truck is mostly original and unrestored with a few reproduction parts recently added on.
Drivetrain: 350 engine runs great (it is unknown if this is the original engine and miles are also unknown). It does have an Edelbrock intake manifold and air filter added on. The ignition system has also been upgraded to an HEI distributer. The carburator is a remanufacured quadrajet from Summit Racing with electric choke. The engine does a have a minor oil leak and leaves a drip or two when parked. It looks like the oil pan gasket, however it's not bad enough to worry about. The truck was originally equipped with air conditioning but the compressor and hoses are missing. The transmission is a TH-350 automatic which shifts great and operates as designed. The axle is a 10 bolt GM and the ratio is unknown. It looks to be original.
Brakes and suspension: The truck is equipped with power brakes; 4 wheel drum system. The brakes have not recently been inspected but do work good and stop straight. This is a rear leaf spring truck with six hole wheels and original hub caps. The shocks have been replaced.
Interior: Reproduction parts include a new steering wheel, new rubber flooring, and new door sill plates. The door panels and seat are original. The seat upholstery under the saddle blanket seat cover needs redone. The windows and doors all function as designed. The seat belts also also look to be original. The original steering wheel will be included but is not in good condition. The radio is an AM FM Cassette from the 80s or 90s and it does function. All of the gauges and controls work good with one exception, the turn signals don't shut off after making a turn. The original cigarette lighter is included.
Body: The body is mostly straight and looks to be original. The truck looks to have been repainted once because there is some overspray on the "Custom" emblems. There are some hail dings on the hood and some paint touch up here and there. There is some rust in the floorpan and also in the bed floor. The rocker panel areas look to have been repaired with filler and there is evidence of rust in the rocker areas but it is not obvious due to prior repair. The chrome and trim are intact overall but there are some dents and dings in on the chrome trim normal for the age (see close up pictures). The passenger door is bent a little at the bottom rear edge a little and you can see the passenger door jam gap along the rear edge is not perfect (see picture). The tailgate also isn't perfect (again see pictures). The grille shell also has a dent on the passenger side. I will include two rear numbers; the step bumper in the pictures and a new reproduction chrome bumper (matches the style of the front bumper) with brackets and a license plate bracket that I just bought and have not yet installed.
Other: It is unknown if the odometer has rolled over but due to the age, make your own assumptions. I assume it has probably rolled over. Check out the last picture for a screenshot of the NADA book values. Call or text me with any questions. Chris 505-486-4404
