GMC Other 1983 Description
1983 GMC K2500 with a 6 inch lift kit and Dick Cepek 35 inch tires with lots of tread remaining. Truck was originally a 350 but someone swapped a 454 and did a good job with the swap. Everything on the truck still works. including the factory cruise control and the original factory radio. Dash has not been cut. The motor has a small cam in it (. 495 lift and 264° duration) from Chris Nielson Cams in Utah. In March of this year the truck had the following work done:New Master CylinderNew Wheel CylindersNew Front Brake Calipers and PadsNew Steering Gear BoxNew Fuel Pump in November 2014New dual exhaust from manifolds back. with Flowmaster mufflers in November 2014Other Features:Dual Fuel Tanks (both work)Dual BatteriesHeavy Duty AlternatorGear Vendors OverdriveThis is a dependable truck. starts every time. Would not be afraid to drive it anywhere. The truck idles well. 4X4 works correctly. cruise works. all lights work. wipers/windshield washer works. The truck is straight with no major dents and not much in the way of dings. It has been repainted at some point. The original color is white. When the repaint was done they used the stick on type side molding and the the parts on both front fenders kept coming up so I removed them. Need the correct moldings that have the clips that fit in the holes in the fender. There is no major rust on the truck but there are the small spots you can see in the pictures. The metal is still solid there. not horrible to repair correctly. Overall this is a good solid truck that drives well. Have a lot of receipts dating back to 1991. REVISED: 04/13/15Above I stated that everything works. I forgot about two things. One is the fuel gauge only reads between 1/4 and 1/2 tank when it's full. It stays there until the fuel level reaches that point and then goes down like normal. This truck has dual tanks. both tanks work just fine and the fuel gauge does the same thing on either tank. The second thing is the oil pressure gauge. Sometimes it works correctly. other times it shows pegged out to the far right past 60 and sometimes it bounces all over the place. I have never messed with trying to get it fixed.
