GMC Other 1971 Description
This very rare 1971 GMC Sprint is a restoration project for a collector. The GMC Sprint is alittle-known variant of Chevrolet's El Camino. The top engine option in the 1971 GMC was the LS5-454 with forged steel crankshaft which was rated at 365 HP.It has cowl induction systemwhich was only available for the 454. This Sprint includes power steering, ower front disc brakes, ll tinted glass/gauge package, utomatic transmission and A/C. The A/C is not properly working.
Photos included show the body tag: BODYBY FISHER ST71 53680 8238827BDY, R 731 49 GPNT, A B 0758. The1971 Sprint shared the assembly line and manual with the Chevelle and El Camino. The Sprint used a "Chevrolet" A-body.
Only 249 GMC Sprints were built in 1971. Of those, t was estimated that 25 were the SP-454 version. Of those, 6 are believed to exist at the present time. Of the 16, t is believed that only 9 had factory A/C, owl induction, utomatic transmission and power steering.
This Sprint runs and is drivable but not for long distances.
Also included are a number of new parts, ooks and manuals I havegotten to start the restoration.Extra partsinclude a 1971 steering wheel, ew hood, wo fenders and inner fenders, ew grille, ash insert, nd more. Photos are shown of thesenew parts.
