GMC C1500 1970 Description

Custom 1970 GMC Short Bed Step Side
Story of this truck:
I got this truck a couple years ago from an acquaintance who began a restoration on it around 6 years ago but was unable to complete. The body was super straight and almost no rust. About 3 years ago, he had the engine and transmission professionally rebuilt and a built Ford 9" Posi Rear with probably 4.11 gears but I'm not sure.. Unfortunately he no longer had any paperwork on it when I purchased it but I've knew the guy some time and I knew the truck for several years before I bought it. Since the rebuild, between he and I, the engine / trans have had about 3k - 4k. When I first got it from him, I took the truck mostly apart to sure up and sort out any issues it had from his attempt and give it new paint and freshen up the inside. It's now a daily driver if you like lower geared, posi, off-the-line quick. It's made for cruising the streets and off-the-line speed, not all day on the highway at 70. I am over 60 years old and while I do love driving it, it's made for someone who wants some power to throw around. Odometer currently shows around 79,800. Current seats came out of 06 Pontiac Grand Prix (driver's side is electric) but I have the original bench seat with a new cover I was going to save for another project. I will include the bench seat with this auction with a Buy It Now. All work done by me or previous owner:
  • Rebuilt Motor 350 30 over
  • Rebuilt TH350 3 speed automatic with B&M shifter
  • Built Ford 9" Posi Rear
  • New Dash Pad
  • New Carpet
  • New Professional Paint
  • Leather Interior w/ Power Driver Seat
  • New Wood Bed
  • Stainless Steel Rails
  • Aluminum Diamond Plate bed
  • Engine area clutter really minimized and detailed out.
Truck was originally a 3 speed column shift but was converted to B&M floor shift when the rebuild happened.
It's not a 10 yet. There are some small things that still need done but they're easy. Here's a list of things I might consider working on:
  • Heater Fan switch stopped working : The fan motor still will blow with a direct line to the battery, so the switch or cable has failed. I don't drive it in cold weather so it's not been a problem for me.
  • Aftermarket steering wheel and the horn button had been moved to a small dash button when I got it.
  • The radio powers on, but I don't hear anything from the speakers. Not sure what it is, it's not a big deal for me, but the next owner might want music!
  • It would be nice if it had power brakes added
  • Cherry on top: Classic Air AC
But I'll leave those to her next parents. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. If you have any questions you can call me:
