GMC 100 SERIES 1956 Description

I am relisting this 56 GMC and based on buyer feedback I am re-writing the below description to be clearer on what you do and do not get for the price, and what your options are - so if you are a returning buyer please re-read the description so maybe it makes better sense this time.If you have questions or ? WHAT YOU GET FOR 4000.00 = this 1956 GMC 100 series LONGBED pickup project truck that was started about 2 yrs ago and never finished. It has the factory 317 Pontiac V8 engine and rare Hydramatic Automatic transmission. It is a big window RUST FREE cab with replaced cab corners. It never had rust to repair anywhere else. I had the original radiator rodded and re-painted. the bumper, lower grill bar and bombs you get with this truck are not the ones pictured above, but instead an un-restored slightly dented and scratched up front bumper and bombs off my 55. For the UPPER grille, often called the "Mustache" grill, the one in the above pictures is the one you get with the truck. I installed NOS GM park lights (650.00 worth) in the upper chrome grille - so the mustache in the pictures is unusually nice but not perfect - needs to be re-chromed for show. Was re-painted Aqua Blue & Bombay Ivory and is only a "driver" grade paint job - NOT show condition. Engine is free but not currently running. Trans operated properly when last driven. New master cyl installed and some brake lines 2 yrs ago. Needs brake work on the 3:07 geared correct rear end in it. NO LONG BOX bed available. No glass, guages, seat, gas tank etc currently in it - was buying all new for it. Power brakes shown in above pictures DO NOT come with the truck. You can add notes when you submit your offer telling me what additional parts you would like to get with it for your offered price, or what parts you want omitted - see details below. Detail pictures are in the link at the bottom - PLEASE READ THE WHOLE AD. 99% of Ebay buyers simply refuse to read the whole ad but if they did, their questions would likely be answered.
WHAT YOU GET IF YOU PAY 3000.00 = You get the truck described above (plus whatever you are willing to pay extra for of the below optional parts) MINUS the engine, trans, radiator, and steering column. This offer is for the Hot-Rodder who only needs a super solid ready-to-go body and does not want the original drivetrain. The hot-rod builder will instead use his own engine, trans, aftermarket columm, and radiator. NOTE:to install an aftermarket radiator in a 55-57 GMC, you have to use the more common and considerably simpler 55-59 Chevrolet Radiator Support - I will provide one of these Chevy style supports to the buyer so you have what you need to mount the aftermarket radiator, because when the original radiator comes out, there is nothing to hold the fenders together - the old Pontiac-style horseshoe radiator support is specific to the style of the 55-57 radiator and must be removed with the radiator.
OPTIONAL ADD-ON PARTS AVAILABLE AT EXTRA COST TO EACH OPTION ABOVE:1) mint set of re-chromed show-quality 55-56 front bumper bombs = 650.00.2) short wheelbase correct 1956 date coded V8/Hydramatic GMC frame to switch to Short Bed = 500.003) your choice of 55-59 short frames that are NOT correct for a 56 GMC if being built "all original". example: you might want a factory V8 Chevy short frame which is more desireable for a hot rodder NOT planning to sub frame it, but who DOES WANT to mount a Chevy V8 engine or a super clean 43K original mileage 59-59 GMC short Frame (works better for aftermarket radiators) or a short 6 cyl Chevy frame which is best for heavier modification where you are definitely chopping and doing a front clip). Inquire on the many short frame options -Text or call Steve at256 486 19884) Short Stepside Bed - bondo and dent free w/ GMC correct 55-59 Tailgate = $650.00 or $500.00 w/ no tailgate.5) unbroken, un-wiper scratched clear windshield = $200.006) unbroken clear big back window = 150.007) original chrome framed vent windows (surface rusty some) = 100.008) original unrestored chrome framed door glasses = $100.009) original gas tank = $100.0010) original unrestored 55-59 seat = 200.0011) hundreds of miscellaneous 55-59 parts - we can design the deal to include or exclude what you want or need the most.
TRADES? We can discuss a trade - gotta be something I'd want though, and all I like is pre-1973 Chevy and GMC trucks and related parts and goodies. Original stuff for me - not modified. If you have questions or ? Text or call Steve at 256 486 1988

TITLE: the state of Alabama did not issue titles for vehicles until 1974 so what we have here is a registration document you take to your DMV and they make you a title from that. All title bearing states have a method to produce a title for vehicles bought from non-title bearing states.
