GMC Other 1951 Description

You are bidding on a restored 1951 GMC Pickup. I acquired it in 2004 in Texas and took 2 years to get it into this condition. It has been stored inside and taken out on nice days only, to car shows, out for ice cream, or to the golf course. It has never stranded me out on the road and always got me back home.
In addition to the truck, I have ownership records that go back to 1982, a box of "spare/extra" parts, a fabric cover, GMC 47-54 Maintenance Manuals, and a Factory assemble Manual. As you may see in the pics, I have replaced the majority of "exposed" bolts with polished SS, under the hood and in the bed of the truck.
Body: All 4 fenders and the 4 panels of the box are new steel, doors, hood, and cab are restored original equipment. Running boards are new steel. New floor pans and transmission cover. Front and rear bumpers are new, triple chrome plated, as well as the grill. Chrome headlight bezels, tailgate hinges with SS chains, "GMC" emblem on front of hood. Chrome rear brake lights with Blue centers. The bed of the box is oak (stained and urethaned with polished SS rails. Stake rack is red oak with SS bolting. Doors fit pretty good, windows are in great shape and have been re-rubbered. The 2 small vent windows on the doors look great, but need to remain closed. Tires have less than 3000 miles and are radial. Spare tire mounted under the box with period correct brackets. Paint was applied in 2005, you also get a pint of paint with the truck. The only paint chips (small) appear on the bottom front inside corners of the hood (hint-don't ever let someone just slam the hood down).
Interior: New headliner, door panels, floor insulation and rubber matting (1 pce). Heater was re-cored and installed with working heat valve and fan. Seat has been re-covered with understated ribs and piping in the 2 seating areas. Has working foot starter, manual choke, manual throttle control and adjustable dimming dash lights in gages (stock). Windows roll down with ease. Has aftermarket "GMC" looking radio with new speakers (can't get radio to work though). I have installed a battery cutoff on firewall. Truck has working cowl vent which can bring in a nice breeze to the truck while driving. Original floor of cab was rough, but now has new floor pans and transmission cover.
Electrical: Truck has been converted to 12V, negative ground with working alternator. Working headlights, running lights, and tail (brake) lights. Working turn signals and 4 way flashers. Working foot dimmer and Gage lights. A second horn has been installed to give it a dual tandem sounding. 12V outlet under dash, and a battery cutoff switch. Truck also has a old time electric siren.
Drive Train: Motor is an inline 6 Cylinder, period correct 228 CI GMC with pressure lubrication and oil filter. Oil bath air cleaner, 1 BBL carburetor, and good compression. Transmission is a 3 speed stick (on the column) with clutch, throw-out bearing and u-joint replaced in 2014. Rear axle is 4.11 gearing. New shocks installed in 2005, as well as and extra leaf in rear springs to bring rear of truck up to a level it needed. New muffler and tail pipe. No smoke in exhaust.
Truck is currently located in the Saginaw Michigan area.
