Jeep Cherokee 1976 Description

This is an extremely nice 1976 Jeep Cherokee Chief wide track. It has 84,455 miles on the odometer and these are the original miles. This Cherokee Chief was fully restored at just shy of 80,000 miles. It was repainted the original code J1 Pewter Grey. The Chief was rust free prior to the restoration and has never had any rust repair or Bondo ever. The decals are brand new. There is no rust anywhere on this truck. The interior was originally blue, ut in the restoration it was changed to custom stitched black leather and is really nice. The steering wheel is new. The dash pad is a little sun warped but looks ok.The flooring material and bed liner are a thick vinyl instead of carpet. The engine was rebuilt at the time of the restoration. It uses no oil. It starts and runs perfectly. Over $25,000 was spent on the Cherokee to make it as nice as it is. The only items not working on the Jeep are the radio (no speaker) and the fuel guage is stuck on empty. I think this is a grounding issue as the original metal fuel tank was replaced with a plastic tank and the guage worked before the tank was changed. The engine is the 360 cubic inch. It was originally a 4 barrell carburator. It now has a Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake and 600 CFM Edelbrock Performer carb. It has been upgraded to HEI but the original Presolite distributor comes with it. The transmission is the T-18 4-speed manual. The clutch and pressure plate are new.The transfer case is the Dana 20 gear driven transfer case instead of the Quadratrack. The axles are Dana 44s with 4.11 gears. It has Warn front axle lockouts. It has a brand new 6 inch lift from BJ's Offroad. It included all new springs and shocks. It also has BJ's custom slider rocker bars.

This is the cleanest and best looking Chief I have ever seen. I would trust this to drive anywhere. I just have used it for my parade car and car shows. It garners a lot of attention wherever I take it. I have never had it in the mud. The underside is as clean as the rest of the truck. It has been lightly undercoated. The axles have been rebuilt. The transmission and transfer case work great. I love the fact that it has the Dana 20 gear driven transfer case instead of the unreliable Quadratrack with the chain drive. It includes many spare parts and books. If you want the original leaf springs I still have them.
