Jeep Wagoneer 1966 Description
NO RESERVE! (Sorry forgot to mention has cracked windshield, when I ebay a vehicle I try very hard to list everything I know about it.)This is a good Jeep, quite well preserved. Has the original 327 and AT, single speed transfer case select 2wd/4wd. It runs really nicely, no smoke and no blow by from the engine. Odometer reads 40k miles, I know the people I bought this from and they used it mostly as a rig to take hunting, brake and gas pedal show no wear and the engine appears to be in excellent condition so 40k is possible but 140K is more likely. I took the top end apart and installed new gaskets and painted everything fairly meticulously, rebuilt AFB which sits on a 2bbl to 4bbl adapter plate, and it really does work fine, might need some more adjustment on the choke, etc... electric fuel pump MIGHT be up to the task and might not, takes a while to prime up but the rig runs really smooth and has good power, no ticking valve train either. Fuel tank was removed and re-lined, fuel system is clear, might want to reinforce the weld that hold it up though, I'm not a good welder. Radiator seems to have no leaks and cools fine, exhaust appears to have no leaks either? Cool massive old glass packs exiting from the side, sounds awesome! Steering pump is quiet, steering does not seem to be overly loose, trans and 4x4 working great though I have not driven it at hwy speeds, feels really solid. I put a new master brake cyl on it but this thing does NOT STOP... I was bleeding the brakes and broke a bleeder off, didn't feel like going completley through the brakes so I quit there. Tires are ancient. It has very little rust, mostly surface rust except the rear quarters which need to be replaced due to trapped water/mud. These have been worked on once before in it's past as can be seen by the off color paint. Rest of the rust is superficial, as can be seen on one rear door window frame and in the trunk area. I whizzed off the rust in these areas to show that there is still solid metal underneath... the window frame isn't even pitted really, the trunk is worse but looks solid enough to save. Frame, undercarriage and rest of vehicle is dry, no rust except superficial, I took quite a few photos to show that this car does not have "cancer", i think the floor pan is totally solid. Interior is what it is.. not bad at all, see the pics. All in all this is an easy driver/resto, very straight so needs very little body work, just quarter panels and some creamy off-white paint, have this ready for the road by summer. Will need to be trailered due to zero brakes at the moment. I do reserve the right to sell locally, any questions welcome, thanks. Vid of running truck-need to download and view
