I’m often asked where we find these clean, unique vehicles. One of my best friends cruises parking lots of retirement homes, Elks clubs, the V.F.W. Hall and the back streets of a well-known Scandinavian neighborhood here in north Seattle. He can spot a seatbelt slammed in a door a mile away…He’ll notice when a nice old car or truck is driving with a turn signal on just a little too long and he positively twitches with glee when a vehicle with metal bumpers passes by!If you’re in the market for a one-of-a-kind, great running & driving vintage SUV please give this clean Grand Wagoneer your kind attention.Feel free to contact me with questions or to discuss a sale before the end of the Ebay auction listing. My name is Mark Thompson and you can reach me directly at 206/914-1173.
CONDITION:
The photos really tell the Grand Wagoneer’s story. It has spent all it’s life here in the Great Pacific Northwest driving our salt-free western Oregon andWashington roads. From the photos you’ll see the rig has obviously been well cared for over the years. We’ve found absolutely NO evidence of any accidents, storm damage, insurance salvage, theft recovery, repossession or any other nasty negatives to cause you concern as the lucky new owner!
I take great pride in our vehicles and feel that you should know as much about them as possible. Accordingly, here’s a list of the good and also any small things possibly needing attention: The four wheel drive system appears to work just as it should. With a flip of a switch the drive train goes to full 4x4 mode, so most of the time you’ll be in 2WD and not wearing out the strong Dana front axle components during summertime highway use.The overall exterior is in very good condition. This rig wears the original factory burgundy color paint and has had one very decent quality re-spray.Rust? Well, this classic Jeep HATES rust and you’d be hard pressed to find ANYTHING to worry about here! Because we rarely get snow in the Puget Sound Basin, our winter roads are never salted. The engine compartment is clean. Climb over, under and throughout - I know you’ll come up smiling!
I’m sure you’ve noticed the unique look of the front end.The previous long-term owner wanted a modern rig that resembled his father’s late-60’s Jeep, so vintage parts were sourced over several months of searching. Not many folks know that hidden beneath the stock grille of every 1980’s Wagoneer is the design and core support of the original 1963 model. All that’s needed to complete the vintage look are these round headlights & bezels and a nice original metal-stamped horizontal gladiator grille.Every time I take the rig out of the warehouse for a fun afternoon drive or stop for gas, people turn their head and/or ask about it! All the work was done right some years ago and looks factory-original.
One turn of the key and the strong 360 CID V8 fires right up with just a few pumps of the gas pedal. The MSD Electronic Ignition and Blaster coil have boosted the spark and help increase gas-mileage and horsepower. There’s a nice, throaty rumble added to by the 3-inch flowmaster-style exhaust. The three-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly, just like it should, with NO slippage.Of course, there’s a tilt steering column, power steering, brakes and windows (all work, including the tailgate glass, except for the passengers-side rear.I believe every Grand Wagoneer came with power front disk brakes in 1987 and these stop just fine with no pulling or binding. All four stock alloy wheels are wrapped with good T/A radials each with plenty of remaining tread. It really is a blast to drive anywhere you’d wish to go!
Please take another look at the interior shots. The upholstery is original and sound on the both front buckets.Same goes for the rear bench seat. There are NO cracks in the dash cover. Headliners are almost always an issue on these rigs. You will be very impressed by the solution the immediate past owner came up with.He builds small wooden boats and did a superb job of crafting a three-piece custom spruce paneled headliner.Better-than-stock insulation was first installed to deaden sound and keep condensation from forming on the underside of the roof during damp winter months (the primary reason almost all Wagoneers have sagging headliners most of the time!).Fresh factory style carpet has been added in the rear cargo area and on the tailgate with very good original carpets still throughout the rest of the interior. All of the door panels have stood the test of time and are in decent condition as pictured. You’ll be quite impressed with the dash gauges, they’re still as clear and bright as new.The oil pressure gauge has a backup mounted under the dash and the MSD ignition timing can be manually adjusted from a dial mounted next to the factory gauge pod. All the glass is great including the windshield. The only other small negatives I’ve found are the electric mirrors don’t respond (they are manually adjustable) and the factory AM-FM radio is quite finicky. That’s about it!If you’re thinking of bidding on a comparable Chevy Suburban or Ford Bronco of similar vintage, you really owe it to yourself to drive and look this unique piece over first!
PLEASE BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you are purchasing a unique classic from a respected Ebay seller.I want you to be happy with your purchase (and with me) and that’s the main goal! Please don’t be upset by a missed flaw or some unforeseen problem! No vintage used car or truck is ever perfect.Having said this, I would not hesitate to drive this SUV long distance immediately.
Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require that Ebay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call or email before placing a bid.If I don’t have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled. As I’ve outlined above, the phone number to talk directly to me is 206/914-1173.Please feel free to call any time during the auction. My name is MARK THOMPSON.You’re welcome and encouraged to come by my Auburn, WA warehouse to inspect & drive the Grand Wagoneer. You might also make an offer as many of my vehicles sell to smart “early birds” that call and work out a deal prior to the auction’s end.I always reserve the right to sell during this period.
A Few Additional Terms and Conditions:
A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction’s conclusion. The balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven business days unless prior arrangements have been made with me.I can accept PAYPAL, but if you plan to pay any more than the deposit through them I’ll first need to send an invoice and would ask that you cover the 3.5% fee PayPal charges. Please remember you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You’re not bidding to hold or then come inspect and test-drive the vehicle later -- You’re more than welcome to do this before the auction ends.

TheJeep can be stored free of charge at my location for up to two weeks after the auction ends assuming full payment has been received. After that period storage is $20 per day.The vehicle is being sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. All information described above is based on the observed condition when thelisting was placed. I've done my very best to describe the Grand Wagoneer as honestly as possible and encourage bidders to contact me with questions.
