Jeep CJ 1982 Description

This CJ5 was restored over several years by a Jeep aficionado who has completed over 20 restorations. Thousands spent on improvements, upgrades, engine, paint, etc. All of the expensive issues for a CJ have been addressed. It has never been abused or mudded and always a garaged Southern vehicle with no rust and no accidents. I am ONLY selling due to losing my storage space and I refuse to park it outside. It’s the perfect setup (to me); CJ 5, no rust, small block chevy engine reliability, 4 speed, power steering, nice top, tires, rims and stereo. However, I have been retired for years and simply do not use the Jeep and NEVER take it offroad. The body is excellent. I have not included all improvements, but you get the picture. As you know, it’s much cheaper to buy one restored than to do it yourself. This Jeep could not be restored to this condition for NEAR the price!

Small block Chevy engine; runs great.

Power Steering System was previously manual, and was converted to power steering. High pressure line, low pressure line, power steering pump, power steering engine block mount, and gear box are all in excellent working condition.

Rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission.


Fuel pump replaced with hose leading into pump, and hose (plus filter) to carb replaced.

Dana 300 Transfer Case converted to dual shifter.

CJ has been fitted with new small block chevy radiator. The vehicle never runs hot, and does not leak radiator fluid.

The only needs I am aware of are; the wipers are not currently working (haven’t looked into this: dont drive it in rain) and the right front lockout is not locking in (my fault; I forced it). I have discounted the Jeep for the price of new lockout hubs. Otherwise, the Jeep is set to go.

I will consider ending the auction early for $9,250 with a $500 Paypal deposit due to my need to sell. If you are interested in doing this, please call me early, as I cannot do this when the bids approach this price (out of fairness to bidders).

I will also advertise the Jeep locally and in other venues and maintain the right to cancel the auction early. I will require a $500 deposit within 24 hrs and full payment within 72 hrs. I will need a bank wire transfer, cash or bank cashier check. If payment by bank cashier check, I will release the Jeep after it clears my bank.
