Jeep CJ 1961 Description

This is one of the most original "survivor" Jeeps of all time. Only 8,100 miles and keptin storage since the 1970's. Other than a high quality Imron re-spray in the early 80's, this Willys (before American Motors bought Jeep, they were made by Willys Motor Co) Jeep is as perfect as an unrestored55 year old vehicle could ever be. Tires are original, and not even cracked. Bias ply off-road tires from 1961 would be impossible to find. Upholstery, engine, transmission, transfer case...you name it...it's original. The original paint started peeling while in the warehouse and it was re-sprayed and re-lettered by a pro. Everything else is exactly as it came new. There is not a single chip or dent, anywhere on this Jeep. And, yes, it comes with an original owner's manual. It has been stored in a climate controlled warehouse (full of the deceased owner's 23 collector cars) since 1979. Recently, we pulled it out of storage, cleaned and resealed the fuel tank, replaced the brake hydraulics, changed all the fluids, replaced the water pump and fuel pump, and she fired right up. No tune up required. This Jeep runs and drives as it did in 1961. The wonderful teal color is typical of late 50's to early 60's trendy colors.
