Jeep CJ 1982 Description

1982 Jeep CJ8 Scrambler. Guys, this is a good one. Easy top 1% of original paint/bodies/frames still on the road today! Northern California Jeep most of its life!
This Jeep has absolutely ZERO rust anywhere on the body, other then some minor pitting on the windshield frame where the bottom of the window seal touches the frame. It is an easy repairable area if you choose to do so. It is not in need of repair at the moment as it is pretty minor.
The rest of the body and the frame is as rust-free as it gets! I removed the top, seats, and old worn out carpet (which has since been disposed) and cleaned this thing out really good. I inspected every single area of this Jeep from top to bottom. The only rust you'll find is surface rust on the front floor boards. The surface rust is so minimal that there is not any pitting, or any type of damage to the drain holes on the floor boards. A wire cup wheel will strip off any surface rust present, leaving nice shiny, smooth steel. This body is about as solid as it comes. Again, I removed everything to include the bulkhead because I wanted to ensure this Jeep is not misrepresented at the slightest. This Jeep does not even have the typical stress cracks on the floor boards where the seat screws in to, which many Jeeps of this age have!
Check out the truck bed....absolutely gorgeous with just a few imperfections. A previous owner had a tool box and some other small stuff bolted in to the bed, which is why the bed has some drill holes and minor dings. If you decided to restore (jeep does not need a restoration), it would be easy work to weld fill the holes and knock out any dings the bed may have. The fenders don't have any dents and are perfect.
The outside of the body is near flawless. I can't find any dings, dents, big rock chips, etc. This Jeep has never been in any kind of accident, and the body shows! This paint is coded as 2J Jamaica Beige, which is a sought after color. A good detailer can work out the paint and have this thing shining very nicely. Oh, for whatever reason, the original bulkhead did not come with the Jeep. I don't know if it was damage or what not. It came to me with a nice green bulk head, and the side towards the bed has some sort of bedliner coating on it (likely to minimize the risk of scratching from tools and stuff)
The Jeep had the original 258 motor and T5 trans pulled and replaced with a fox body 5.0 mustang motor and with what I believe to be a C4 automatic transmission. The previous owner told me the motor has somewhere around 40-50k miles on it. No way for me to verify. But, I will tell you this Jeep is pretty quick, and runs better than any other CJ I have driven. The drive train does not leak fluid and runs real nice. The only thing I notice is that the oil pressure gauge is not working. I don't know if it is the gauge, or the sender. But, there are no oil pressure issues with the Jeep. The motor was professionally installed. This is not some hack job. No part of the body or tub was cut, welded, etc. when this motor was installed. The installation was very clean, and the engine looks like it came with the vehicle. A very factory looking, professional installation. A true pleasure to drive. 4WD engages and operates as intended.
As seen, the Jeep comes with a very rare full length hard top and without doors. Doors are somewhat readily available on Craigslist. The hard top is pretty good, but not perfect. The window seals will need replacing. The top can use a minor restoration, but with the insignificant flaws it has, it can be looking new with minimal effort.
I think I have described this Scrambler as best I can. If you have further questions, by all means give me a ring or shoot me a text. 520-789-0875. I have many more pictures I can send you via a photobucket album. This is an exceptional scrambler, and I hate to sell it. I have too many Jeeps and cannot keep this one.
Immediate paypal deposit of $500 is due right away, and the remaining balance due within 3 business days via wire transfer or certified check. Vehicle must be picked up within 14 days of sale. If you need assistance with transport, I have a good guy. I'm a very reasonable person and will make reasonable accommodations for pick up. However, I will not drive the Jeep 200 miles to meet you. I will deliver for free within 50 miles of my residence on my flat bed trailer, or I will pick you up from the airport for you to drive it home...that sort of thing.
Thanks for looking!
