Jeep CJ 1985 Description

1985 Jeep CJ7 4cyl, 4WD
Fair reserve price, or buy it now. This is listed locally, as well.

Great body and frame. No rust. Original 4cyl 150 AMC motor. 4speed Borg Warner tranny. Dana 300 transfer case. Hard top, soft top and bikini top. Hard and soft doors 31" tires. Lots of extra parts. New seats. Rhino lined interior. Fluids changed. Soft top is 1 year old. Upper part of driver door plastic has a crack from being bent in the winter when it was freezing. Hard top is in decent condition. Hard doors were purchased separately from another CJ7 with no rust and in good shape.
Included with this sale is roof rack, roof top tent, Additional working AMC 6cyl motor with about 50,000 mile since rebuild, 2- Borg-Warner T-5 transmissions. (1 has only 5,000 miles since rebuild, the other has about 50,000 since rebuild but 2nd gear syncro started to slip), bell housing, Dana 300 transfer case. Newly refurbished 4.0 head upgrade for more HP, pushrods, gaskets, etc. 4" lift suspension, heavy duty steering pump and heavy duty bracket, new high flow exhaust header, 2nd Weber 32/36 Progressive Carb. New front gold slotted rotors and ceramic pads, new front calipers and brake lines. Brand new engine hoist, transmission jack, farm jack plus more tools to go with. Plus many more parts (shifter, brackets, engine mounts, clutch/ brake brackets, etc.)
Basically, I stripped apart my 1986 CJ7 after a wreck. The body and frame were damaged, but all of the parts were good. The motor had been rebuilt with about 50,000 miles on it. Many other parts were replaced, so are in very good condition. So, that's what's included. A solid 4cyl CJ7 with everything to upgrade to the stronger 6cyl.
I'm moving out of the country so am looking at selling everything as a complete package. I'm not a desperateseller, but am motivated to not have to store everything when I move. Please give this a good home. This is the most fun vehicle I've ever owned. The windshield folds down, doors come off. It's the best summer vehicle and perfect for camping trips. The roof top tent is lightly used. It's been on only about three camping trips. It has a 2" mattress inside. And yes, the 4cyl motor can move this rig with the rooftop tent and holds true on the highway. This is not a restored Jeep, but it is in really great condition.
Some attributes:
Cleaned up/ simplified wiring.
Newer fuse block from Painless.
Carter carb removed and replaced with Weber 32/36 progressive carb.
No emissions controls (does not need testing since it's an '85, except maybe in California)
Upgraded heater motor blows 4x original volume
DUI ignition
New brake master cylinder with added booster.
Body/frame in incredible shape
New rear brake drums/ pads/ cylinder
New dash lightsNew shocks.
New USB chargers, digital air fuel meter, digital volt meter, remote fuel pump shut off
Tilt steering
31" tires are like new.
It could use a better paint job since the PO had his air volume too high and did not get a clean finish. However, it looks pretty rugged as it is, so it's just a personal preference to repaint, or not.
It needs a new speedometer and cable and a few finishing items which I may or may not take care of. New heater cables need to be installed, but are included as well. This is a daily driver, or a fun project depending on your interest. Remember this auction comes with all additional parts from the 86 CJ7 listed plus more.
Shipping should be arranged via vehicle carrier and freight. I may be able to deliver some/ all depending on logistics. I will help box all parts for shipping. Some of the parts can be shipped in the back of the vehicle, but the shippers generally frown on that, so freight is the way to go.
