Mercury Comet 1967 Description

Up for your consideration is my 1967 Mercury Caliente in excellent "driver quality" condition. It has a few scratches and tiny dings, but I can't even get them to show in the pics. It is powered by a good running 289 2bbl with a C4 automatic that shifts firmly. It has power steering, but manual drum brakes. It is equipped with what looks to be dealer installed factory air. The compressor, condenser, all brackets, bolts and belt are in a box and come with the car. There was no freon in the system, so I removed the compressor and condenser. The car was painted once about 12 years ago and looks great. There are a few tiny dings or chips, but it's a beautiful car that gets a ton of attention at the car cruises due to it's color, body style, condition and relative rarity. You see lots of Ford Fairlanes, but when's the last time you saw a '67 Caliente?
There appears to be no body repair done to this car. I checked the entire car with a weak business card type refrigerator magnet and it sticks everywhere. The car came out of Missouri and I bought it from southern Virginia. The floors and inner rockers have light surface rust. I did weld some 12 gauge plate on the passenger side torque box to fix a 1" X 3" hole right below the bend, and it is now better than new, and the driver's side torque box is perfect. Overall, you wouldn't believe the condition of this car at this price. The door jambs, engine bay, and under the trunk lid were never repainted, just the outer body. The door jambs and the bottom of the doors look nearly new with no rust. The wheels are from a 1967 Cougar and really look great on this car. They were on it when I bought it, and I couldn't have picked a better wheel.
Oh, and the reason I'm selling is I have a passion for cars and tend to buy too many! I need the space and money to finish my '55 Chevy truck. My friends and family will not be pleased with my decision to sell this car!
