Mercury Grand Marquis 1985 Description

Up for bid is my 1985 Mercury Grand marquis Colony Park Wagon, NO RESERVE AUCTION. This car is in great shape and I have been using it to tow my pop up for the last year. It is very solid as you can see from the pictures. It has a newly rebuilt 302 that is a roller cam engine out of an F150 with GT40 heads that have been freshly gone over at the machine shop including a 3 angle valve job. The engine is bored .30 and has all brand new internals including bearings, cam, reman crank, pistons and rings. It has a true dual exhaust and all emissions equip is deleted. The car isn't a powerhouse but it did well towing my pop-up. I have upgraded my boat that I also towed with it and am now going to be using a truck. So all of the work that I have done to this car will be passed to the winning bidder at what I am sure is going to be a steal. Car also has four BRAND NEW white wall tires (ZERO MILES!) a brand new heavy duty 2 and 1/4 core radiator and a new set of front brake pads. There is also a set of air shocks on the rear for leveling when it is packed up and a new 7 pin trailer plug with the battery charging cable hooked up

Air conditioning blows cold and has held a charge now for three years. There is a brand new blue tooth streaming CD player in it with all new speakers including a component set in the rear, could use a sub in my opinion. Interior is good shape and the carpets were just shampooed. I just had the top half of the car painted and although it certainly isn't show quality it is very good driver quality. I haven't done any long mile road trips with the new engine, but it definitely has much more power than the old 302. The engine is factory throttle body fuel injection and it works well. It is a good solidcar and definitely is a greatway to take road trips in style.

The are a few things that need attention. The rear power windows including the gate do not go down. The motors work, however something must have come off track in the regulators. The power locks do not work right and there is a crack on the top of the windshield that comes down from the top and goes behind the rear view mirror. It has been there for a while and doesn't bother me while driving, but that is personal opinion. There are some small rust spots, the worst is the bottom of the front fenders a little larger than a golf ball. no holes anywhere and the underside is nearly perfect. I took a picture of the worst side fenderso you can see. They haven't gotten any worse in the three years I have owned it. The shifter selectorneedle doesn't work. I broke a little plastic part when I was putting the speakers in the dash, does not affect functioning of the car. If were to tow with it any more I would install a temp gauge just to monitor.

This is a great car that that I have a lot of money into. Probably around $6500.00. I am starting the bid at three grand and I am going to let it go for whatever the high bid is on the no reserve auction. Please DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT BUYING. There is a $500.00 nonrefundable deposit due through eBay within 24 hours. I will take all steps possible to recoup lost time and money for any bidders that do not hold to the contract of a bid.

I encourage you to come see and DRIVE this car at our dealership. Evancho Motors, 21 Foster Ave. Freeland PA 18224. Coming in person is always the best way to know exactly what you are getting.
