Mercury Cougar 1969 Description
I bought this car in 2011 in running condition. from a man in Alabama. who obtained it I think from original owner in sunnyvale. Ca. I finished the restoration in spring of 2013. My wife and I take it on occasion to eat or car shows. but then sits in garage. I restore old Ford cars and trucks as a hobby. and usually do one a year. I am not going to try and list everything that has been done to this car. only to say every nut. bolt. and screw along with everything that can come off has either been redone like original or been replaced with parts from West Coast Classic Cougar. with exceptions mentioned in seller notes. My intentions were to put in Meccum at Indy this year but again got lazy. and if it dont sell on here or locally im sure that is what i will do with it. I do not have to sell this car. it don't eat. but i am out of room in my garage. I have over 200 pictures from start to finish and can provide several (not 200) for SERIOUS buyers. I can also show pictures of the ones (Mustangs) that I have restored for my family. that's why i am out of room. I also have the dealer invoice and build sheet. although its very dark but can be read along with a lot of other paperwork from original owner. The invoice shows automatic trans. but was dealer installed manual 4 speed. also have paperwork for that. If you have questions i will check add everyday. I would not be afraid to drive this car anywhere. the air conditioner is very cold and that is why i said 175 miles driven when its hot outside we take it. I have nothing to hide on this car. and was done to the best of my abilities along with a close friend that has been working on cars for over 40 years. EnjoyOn Apr-19-15 at 11:29:00 PDT. seller added the following information: Thought i would add some more info. the console did not come with the car but was one i had left over from the 69 mustangs. it came with ashtray and lighter that i still have. Also if it sells buyer also can have all the original parts and fasteners. extra striping (i double ordered) i do have the lockable spare tire mechanisim and jack that was in the car not sure if its original but assume it was. A plastic dash overlay that i didn't install. the tail light grilles and gas pull down door. headlight switch w vaccum for light covers. and whatever else is in garage for this car. dont plan on doing another cougar unless its eliminator. i have a R code 73 Mach 1 and Q code 64 Galaxie that is next on list so need to make room for their parts lol.
