Mercury COUPE 1947 Description
This Mercury was originally reworked in 1986 in York Penn. The flathead Ford 100 HP 8BAwas rebuilt at that time and the speedo zeroed out. The owner passed away and the wife could not part with it and it sat in a garage for 20 years until she passed away. The kids didn't want it and it was bought and shipped to Florida. Because of sitting the gas tank was removed, flushed, nd coatedalong with new fuel and brake lines. New wheel cylinders and master cylinder were replaced. The radiator was removed and rodded with an auxiliary fan installed. Seals and bearings in the rear wheels were replaced. The rebuilt flathead has a 2-2 aluminum intake manifold with two new Super 97's from Speedway. It is a 3 speed column shift with turn signals attached. There is no power steering or A/C, ust elbow power and open windows. Has duel exhaust, ew from header pipes back with cherry bomb mufflers. Has new clutch and pressure plates with bearing replaced in April of 15 along with pilot bearing. Has Coker Wide Whites, epro. Fiesta Spinner Wheel Covers, ropped front axil, ear lowering blocks, ight gray plush floor carpet, ray vinyl upholstery, nbsp;converted to 12 volt with GM 1 wire alternator, ew 12 v battery, ew headliner, oss stereo system with speakers. There are receipts from the original build to present along with original owners manual. There is even the paint label to show the color on the car (this folks is a rarity to have come with a car). The car has been nosed and decked with an early 50's Buick styles grill. The metallic maroon paint has a couple bubbles and knicks but not bad for a 20+ year paint job. All the gauges work but for the clock. The temp. gauge was disconnected and hooked up to a more modern and accurate temp. gauge. There is a crack at the bottom rear of the passenger door post but nothing to be concerned with. This runs and drives good. You can fly in, will get you at the airport and you can drive it home. Don't drive this and think you won't be noticed. Everywhere I go it draws crowds. The title is clean and open, ill it out to your desires. Email if you have further questions or picture requests. Payment of $500 due at end of sale to Paypal, alance to be wired to my checking account--details given at that time. There is no warrantee and car being sold as is.
