Mercury Capri 1974 Description
These cars are hard to find and this is a good prospect for either a driver or full restoration. All original paint except the front left fender, hich was replaced years ago. That way what you see is what you get as far as bondo goes No rust except the usual behind the rear wheels. The chrome and trim in amazing condition for a car this age. Working A/C. New front suspension (rack, all joints, CAs) Newer brakes including calipers. Engine runs but occasionally smokes on start up and drips oil. Transmission and clutch work great. No cracked glass. Primarily needs interior. Please ask any and all questions as this is currently a driving but project car.I currently use it as my daily driver.Update: I ran it through the car wash tonight and there appears to be a leak from under the dash on the driver's side.
Also the car is for sale locally and I reserve the stop the auction if it sells locally before the auction ends.On Aug-05-15 at 11:22:52 PDT, eller added the following information:
Update 2: The gas tank was removed and professionally cleaned out. A new fuel pump was fitted. A larger than stock aluminum radiator was fitted to handle the increased load of the air conditioner. A newer water pump was installed. The Air Conditioner compressor and condenser are newer. The belts and hoses are newer.

On Aug-06-15 at 20:16:23 PDT, eller added the following information:It has an pointless ignition that was recently added by the previous owner. The tach reads half of what it should. There is the typical Capri shimmy between 45 and 60 mph which goes away at higher speeds and at times during brakingThis is usually caused by worn bushings or steering rack or tire balance or alignmentI have replaced the everything on the suspension in that area but I have not balanced the tires. It has newer 175/70/13 tire on the car but I was going to move up to 15 inch tires in the futureIt has been aligned and notice the old school camber plates on the struts.
