Mercury Cougar 19670000 Description
Up for sale is my 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7. Car was purchased off Ebay around 2 years ago from a seller's private collection. It is all original interior that is free of rips, urns, tains, r tears. Carpet is in excellent condition withfloormats that read "XR-7". Car has original chrome that is good condition and the car is in the original black onyx paint. I do believe the car was repaintedthe original factory color probably to "freshen" it up but I am not sure. When I got the car, had the exhaust cropped to install 2-Flowmaster 40 mufflerswith chrome tips. At that time I noticed light smoking from the passenger side exhaust. The car went to the shop and the top half of the engine was rebuilt. This included rebuilding the heads, nstalling a new aluminum Eldebrock intake manifold, nd Edelbrock carb. The bottom engine was not done as the mechanic said the cylinder walls were fine-however the car still smokes slightly and uses oil lightly. I purchased a newly rebuilt 289 engine that I have not installed and will come with the purchase of this car.Carruns strong, an and will spin wheels, nd is sharp. Several car show trophies have come home with her including one for best original interior. Has wood grain dash and the radio isequipped to runiPod oriPhone/Aux jack mp3 music. The clock does not work but all other gauges do. 1 of 200 made with the tilt-a-way steering wheel.Car also has the original radio in the back as well as the original Mercury hubcaps and a box of misc. parts the original owner tossed in as well as the original magazinedepicting the car as "Muscle Car of the Year 1967".Car is woman owned and driven, on-smoker, nd rarely comes out of storage. When the exhaust was installed they commented the car was immaculate underneath-however Ihave no lift to take pictures of it. Some of the pictures are dark or show shadowing but there is no fading or discoloration what so ever! The car is sold as-is and is a great buy as the book value is sitting at $23k for average operable condition. You are responsible for pick up, hipping, nd transferring the title, tc...and to be clear the car DOES come with the new spare engine for you to install or do whatever with. Serious bidders and offers only as I do NOT have to sell the car. Car is for sale locally and I reserve to sell to whomever appears first with a reasonable, erious offer and cash to back it up. 2017 will be the 50th anniversary of the Cougar...
