1950 MERCURY LEAD SLED CUSTOM
A classic Mercury custom with all of the right touches. Chevy 350 crate motor (330 hp) mated to a B&M Turbo 350 automatic transmission. All in excellent condition with less than 5,000 miles since new. 10-bolt posi rear end with 308 gears. Power steering, ower brakes, ront disc, ear drums and power door locks with keyless entry and alarm. Suspension rebuilt. Factory tinted glass, xcept rear window which is in perfect condition. Window rubber and felt was replaced at time of restoration. The custom black Naugahyde upholstery, ith high-grade carpeting, e-chromed handles, indow frames, tc. combined with the original dash makes a stunning presentation. Tilt column, okar shifter and a Weld Billet “Flames” steering wheel that matches the “Flamed” Weld Billet wheels. Uses a 12-volt electrical system with a Painless wiring system. Pre-wired for future air conditioning. This four-door has “suicide” doors. Body has been nosed, ecked and the headlights frenched. Side stainless has been removed and the paint is PPG Vivid Black. Bumpers and all chrome have been re-chromed. Sound system is a Sony AM/FM 10-disc changer with six interior speakers and a subwoofer in the trunk. The stereo and disc changer are in the glove compartment and remote-activated. Trunk is actuated by a hidden pull cable. Engine compartment has been finished like the exterior. Firewall and inner fenders have been smoothed, olor sanded and buffed. Wiring is hidden. Lots of chrome and billet make the engine compartment shine like a mirror! I have owned this car for over 10 years, urchasing it from the restorer who purchased the car in 1990. This car is great for cruising or car shows. It turns heads wherever it goes!
