1978 Mercury Bobcat Runabout Sedan 3-Door 2.3L

The car runs and drives and stops. It is the Mercury Bobcat rebadged Ford Pinto. Ford made over a million Pintos during its run. Mercury made onlyabout 233000 over its run. So the Bobcat is a rarer find. Cat comes with a 2.3L 4 speed manual transmission. Body is near perfectexcept forthe dent that is described above and the rust appears just to be surface rust from the paint peeling. The car appears to have 21000 actual original miles on it. It shifts good and clutch seems to be good. Only issues that I have found is the carb may need rebuilt which I'm trying to get done while this is posted. The engine seems to smoke sometimes but it may just be from setting for a while. Once the car is ran often the smoke will cease hopefully. The car has not been driven much in its lifetime which makes me think that the smoke that comes out (when it does that is) is just from setting around collecting oil/fuel deposits. The radio works good even though the antenna is not attached to the mount. It is currently in the back of the cat. Tires appear to be good with descent tread. Spare is ok.

The interior is great for a cat from 78. It has some fading on the carpet and some other blemishes on various parts in the interior but nothing really major. The cat does not have air conditioner. The defroster blows and the fan blows out on high. Horn works. All lights work. Doors close with ease. Windows role up and down but are a little tight. Window knob missing from handle on driver door.

All in All an awesome car for someone out there who knows its value.
