Mercury Park Lane 1966 Description

Get a jump on spring. The mild weather has inspired me to make some room in the garage.

This is regular driver quality Park Lane. If you know this car, ou know it was the top-of-the-line for Mercury in 1966. This one features the rare white bucket seat interior more commonly associated with the S-55. It has the very desirable 428 345 hp Super Marauder. The car is big and fast and sounds nice and mellow with the new dual exhaust with Cherry Bombs. The trim is complete and the wire wheels add a nice touch.

I got the car in 2013. It came with new tires, rakes, op, aint, xhaust, hocks, ebuilt motor. Converted to electronic ignition. Notbothered by ethanol fuel (The carb must be rebuilt). I added new carpet, olenoid, attery, xpansion tank. Cleaned up the seats and interior in general. The interior shows well.

I put a few thousand miles on it driving it around in the summers with the family. Of all the cars I have, his one starts the easiest, uns the smoothest and is super quiet. Just a little rumble from the duals. I infrequently loaned it out to family and friends for the drive-in or a summer cruise. If you look in the trunk, ou will see that it will easily carry 4 kids into the drive-in/ Very reliable. Very comfortable to drive. Never worried about it. Took my daughter and all her friends to graduation in it. Wasn't uncommon to jump in and go 50 miles to a car show.

Condition wise, ith all the new parts it starts and runs fine. A few squeaks and rattles from a 50 yr old car. The paint looks very good. It is three footer. If you know where to look and you know automotive paint, ou will find flaws if you look real close, ut otherwise it is quite eye catching with a nice metallic sparkle in the sun. The panels fit pretty well and the long flat body panels are pretty straight. It could use some detailing in the engine bay. Door handles and tail lights are pitted but look and operate fine. Bumpers have stood the test of time and the front bumper looks new. Grill work is complete and the stainless good. The blinker lens in the front are showing their age. There are a few minor bubbles in the paint thata trained eye would find but they are not apparent. Armrests are recovered vs. replaced. Drivers seat has a small tear on the side under the hockey stick. The dash and interior chrome has some pitting. Steering wheel is very good with no cracks. No dash cracks. Gauges all look good and clean and tight. Blower fan only runs on low. Radio only gives static. There is evidence of a repair to the passenger rear floor on the drivers side (professional repair) and some rust damage in the frame near the front of the passenger side rail. Torque box is solid and the wheel wells all solid so I am thinking it sat for a while and water collected in there. If you were restoring it, ou would fix it, ut otherwise not very big. Most of the factory undercoat remains on the body.

I'm out of room. Something has to go. I have other convertibles. This car needs to go to a good home! Low reserve for a car of this quality and stature. Bid early, id often, f you win you will enjoy this car. Ask questions. Car is available to view and drive depending on outside conditions.
