Mercury Grand Marquis 1978 Description

1978 Mercury Grand Marquis SURVIVOR! this vehicle shows in every way 14,150 actual miles on the odometer. From the mechanical, which runs like a top with a number of fresh updates, to the interior and exterior condition, there is absolutely zero indication that this mileage is not accurate. The original leather is like new, soft and supple showing almost no wear. The carpets and pads are like new, the headliner and dash are all the same: perfect. The interior smells like a new Mercury/Lincoln did back in '78. Zero corrosion of any kind. It's original owners took immaculate care of this fine automobile, and it shows. The brakes are new all the way around, the tires are new, the shocks are new, all right before it came to me. I have not seen a finer example of a '70s automobile in many years. This is the last year of the mighty 460CID / 7.5 litre Ford/Lincoln/Mercury engine installed in a passenger car. It has power windows, power seat, power locks, 8 track tape, Cruise control, Air conditioning which blows nice and cold, leather interior, in short, every option that it was available with, as far as I can see. Original manuals are with the car, etc. It is about perfect with very few exceptions, which I noted in photos: There are a couple of door dings, there was what appears to have been a light scrape on the RF fender which was repaired, there is a screw used to hold on a piece of bumper trim, there is one piece of cracked woodgrain trim on the driver's door, very light chipping on the front. Other than those, and you really have to look for them, this car appears new in every way. Paint appears to be almost all original. I have left it in "as found" condition, and have not cleaned it up other than a polish, so that buyers can see what the car actually is under the car and under the hood and in the interior (as I prefer to see myself.)This car was the high optioned granddaddy of the Mercury line in 1978, and this one has every option that was available, showing almost zero damage or aging, especially for a car that is now almost 40 years old! I wouldn't hesitate to get in and drive it. It has no smoke, no overheating, no leaks, no problems whatsoever, everything works as new. Whoever ends up with this beauty will be more than happy with their purchase. I have set a very reasonable reserve, and intend to sell the car. Please ask any questions you need answered, I'll get to you as soon as I am able.Have a wonderful day, and happy 4th!
