Mercury Capri 1983 Description
1983 Mercury Capri RS 5.0 SUPER RARE
Please see the picture ofreceiptsand literature. The motor has been rebuilt, the body has been professionally worked and painted, the list of new parts is endless. Reputable local shops have done all the work. Kirkum Engine and automotive built the engine. It's a mild build but a very stout runner. I would estimate the engine to be in the 275 HP range.Definitelyan upgrade from stock. The paint is awesome, Done by Crosby Creek collision. I have pictures of the car stripped to bare metal and the motor on an engine stand being redone. This car drives straight and is very responsive. It gets allot of attention and runs better than the 5.0 you had back in the day!!!! The A/C Works!!!!! The very unique original SROD (single rail over drive) tranny shifts smooth and is very fun to operate. 1983 was the last year for the SROD 4 speed. it was replaced by the Borg Warner T5 in 1984. A T5 would be a great, and easy upgrade for this car but I always liked the uniqueness and originality of the SROD. The motor is new and healthy. Wanna have a little street brawl? No problem, this car gets respect! Flowmaster two chamber mufflers give it that infamous five liter snarl that you remember from the 80's. The rear end is the original 7.5" with factory gearing. probably 2.73. A 8.8" with 3.55 or 3.73 would be a great upgrade for this car. A steeper ratio would really wake this car up, or just enjoy it the way it is. I do have an 8.8" with 3.55 for saleseparately if buyer is interested. There are variousscratches and dings on the car consistent with a nice driver quality car. Unfortunately the molding on the driver side door curled a little bit and took some paint with it. See pic. The seats could usereupholstering and the interior could use a little attention here and there. however the car is very nice and respectable. I can't express effectively how much fun this car is to drive. You'll just have to buy it and pop in your favorite Beastie Boys or Van Halencassette and go do your local 500 a few times to see for yourself. Come and take a look. very nice car and getting near impossible to find in this condition. Someone will make a great buy on this rare Mercury.I am not in a corner with this car. I do not have to sell! Please do not contact me with low ball offers or trades for rusty camaro's or honda 3 wheelers, although i do love honda three wheelers. Bid honest and contact me to kick the tires if your serious.Buyer is responsible for pickup. I do have a trailer and may be able to aid in transport for a fee
