Mercury Cougar 1967 Description

I have decided that it's time to part with my custom Cougar convertible as I just don't find myself driving it often enough anymore. It has been completed now for almost nine years and I've only driven it a little under 1100 miles, most in the first few years. I built it because I love the lines of the '67/68 Cougars and I always thought that they would be even nicer in a convertible body style. I saw a photo of Kevin Marti's beautiful '67 convertible many years ago and was hooked. I knew that it could be done, so eventually I went ahead and did it.
I have attached a couple of links to articles that Bill Basore wrote about the car for the Classic Cougar Community. I was honored that the car was chosen as the Ride of the Month for March 2016. Please refer to these as they really do tell what is a very long story and supply most of the details about the car and build, and the story of how it came to be. In one of the articles it states that an original Shelby steering wheel was installed on the car but it never did get there.
This really is a very nice car that was built to drive as well as show. The base clear paint looks great as does the custom stitched, factory-looking leather and vinyl interior. It drives very solidly and handles well as it sits an inch or so lower than the factory height. The '69 428CJ with Edelbrock aluminum heads and the original, not reproduction, C7ZX dual quad intake with re-issue BJ/BK Holleys and ceramic coated Hooker long tube headers makes lots of power! The Tremec TKO 600 5 speed make it much more enjoyable to shift and cruise on the highway. The stock power steering is a little bit vague feeling as seems to be the norm with a lot of these.
I'm sure there will be many questions and I will do my best to provide answers as quickly as possible. Again, please refer to the links as they provide much information. Please bid only if you are sure that you want the car and are capable of completing the transaction. I can be reached at 604 999 2427 between 8AM and 10PM Pacific time. Texting is fine as well.
Shipping arrangements are the buyer's responsibility but I will be happy to assist any way that I can.
