Here's a 1953 Mercury 2 door sedan.
Has Mercury flathead V8 (255 CI) that turns over by hand. I have not tried to get it running.
It has oil on the dipstick and there was a little coolant in the radiator when I bought it.
No parts off. This car is complete!
I have a clean title for it in my hand.
The interior is dusty and smelly, ut functional as is.
All of the glass is good.
All windows and door open and close as they should.
Floors seem pretty solid
Body is overall straight and pretty solid.
Has oddball air cleaner and "teapot" carb. Pretty weird.
The bad:
The car has been sitting in a barn since the late 80's/early 90's.
Fuel system will need to be gone through.
It needs brakes.
Your name isn't on the title (yet)
I think it has been previously painted.
There are a few slightly rusty spots.
The latter pictures I took this morning. It snowed about 8" here yesterday and that's why they are so dark. The last two pictures are of the trunk through the rear deck. I don't have keys for the car and with the snow, can't easily get into the trunk.
What better to surprise your wife with this holiday season than an old car?!?
This car is really cool. I have seen these Mercury flathead engines alone sell for around $2500 running.
Thanks for looking. Please email me with any questions. Check out my feedback-I'm honest to deal with.
