Oldsmobile 442 1965 Description

1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 Holiday Coupe finished in its original color combo of Royal Mist Poly over Blue. It is a real deal W-29 442 equipped with its original numbers matching 400ci V8 mated to its original 4-speed manual transmission as well as equipped with power steering and power drum brakes. It has been extensively and expertly restored receiving a 3 year frame off nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration by R&A Engineering in Manchester, MI between April, 2010 and May 2013.

I’m selling this for a client of mine and he has owned it for 8 years. He originally bought it in Clearwater, FL in 2009 and proceeded to have R&A Engineering undertake the meticulous restoration not long after purchasing it. He is downsizing his life for retirement reasons and this is the last car in his collection as I’ve helped him sell his 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 and 1964 Pontiac GTO Royal Bobcat so as you can see he was very particular about the cars he collected and he cared for them and maintained them to impeccable standards. The car currently has 95,915 miles and he bought the car with roughly 93,000 miles so only about 3,000 miles have been added over the last 8 years while in his collection.

The engine is currently running a tri-power set-up with headers, Flowmaster exhaust, full MSD ignition, and dual electric fans. The engine made 345hp stock and it is now estimated to make 390hp with the current bolt-on performance upgrades. One of the electric fans is thermostat controlled and the other has a toggle switch under the dash. There is also a battery shut off switch installed.

The interior is re-finished in its original configuration aside for a few minor upgrades being a NOS column mounted Sun Super Tach, Hurst shifter, and an aftermarket radio unit that’s made to look original complete with an I-Pod/I-Phone hook-up that is located in the center console storage box. Everything electrical works. Lights, blinkers, radio, both tachometers, odometer, speedometer, wipers... etc.

The exterior is original in appearance aside for the currently installed andera correct Radir wheels with redline tires. The paint is in incredible condition and is miles deep. Look at the photos, it is highly polished and has a mirror-like finish… truly show car paint. It also has the correct splatter paint in the trunk equipped with the original jack and tools. The sale also includes the original protect-o-plate and a few boxes of original and NOS parts including the original Hurst shifter, original radio, and original intake manifold among other miscellaneous parts. Also included are the original steel wheels with hubcaps and an extra set of Radir wheels with black wall tires.

Don’t miss this opportunity to own this highly desirable, expertly restored, and collector owned ’65 Olds 442. Not many of them out there in this condition. Over 80 photos can be seen at the following link: http://s243.photobucket.com/user/Luc6189/library/1965%20Oldsmobile%20Cutlass%20442
