Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight 1959 Description

1959 Oldsmobile 98, Convertible, Barn find, as parked in barn over 30 years ago, was driven in, and forgotten. Very restorable, but needs it all, needs total restoration, 98% complete.

These Oldsmobile convertibles are getting harder to find, same body as the 1959 Cadillac, please look at the pictures carefully, this Olds is very restorable but a project, or patch it up and drive it. Floors are bad, all floor braces are intact, the door sills are good and solid, the doors open and close, with no sag in the body, the cowl is in great shape. The front seat is still bolted to the floor. The windshield frame is excellent, the trunk floor is mostly intact, and the gas tank is still attached firmly to the floor. The rear well where the top motor goes is very solid, and the channel where the top attaches is good. There is rot on the top of the drivers side quarter panel by the trunk lip. The top assembly is in good condition, the convertibleheader has some minor rust in it, very repairable. I have the rear seat bottom, it is in rough condition.

The windshield is good, the rear quarter glass is broken, the chrome frames are not broken, the side glass is broken, on the driver's door, the passenger door glass is broken as well, I have the glass with a good chrome frame.

This Olds was a driver when it was parked, it is super straight, and mostly original paint, it had not been all patched up before. I put a battery in the car, and the engine turned over with no problem, the oil is clean, and the transmission fluid looks like it is fresh out of the can. This car is a total project, everything is available, to build an affordable 1959 cruiser.

Very cool, original two tone paint, trim tag:,,, Style 59-3867, paint P-C, that is all the information on the tag. This Oldsmobile came from the factory in Golden Mist Poly, with Polaris white two tone paint, and a fawn and white interior.

Power steering, power brakes, power seat, power antenna, wonder bar radio, power top, rear speaker, clock,

The FRAME IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION IN THIS OLDS, THE REAR BUMPER HAS NO RUST THROUGH!!
