Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight 1950 Description

This auction is for a very collectible1950 Oldsmobile Coupe. This is a one of a kind super street or drag and show rod. This is the only one like it in the world. It was built as a 60’s era A/Gas supercharged gasser. The car is all Oldsmobile and all components of the car are pre 1964. I started out with a very straight rust free body stripped to bare metal, rimed and blocked before paint. All stainless is near perfect. New full interior was left in the car and a six point roll cage was installed with fold out roll bars for easy entry to both doors. The rear end is a narrowed ‘57 Oldsmobile posi unit. The trunk was tubbed. A 15 gallon fuel cell was installed in the trunk also. This car is super straight with no waves or runs. The body was not removed from the frame as it was rust free. I installed a full set of Stewart Warner gauges under the dash. This car rolls on Hailbrand 16” mag wheels with new M&H slicks.

The engine is a 1962 394 cubic inch Oldsmobile bored and stroked to 489 cubic inches. Reath steel crank, rower aluminum rods, &E 8.5 to 1 compression pistons which are all balanced and an Engle blower cam. To hear this car run is mind blowing !!!!

The heads where ported and polished with offset guides and over-sized intake and exhaust valves by Harriman head services. The 671 GMC Hilborn supercharger is a piece of work in itself. It is a low profile 4 port fuel injection setup which was configured by Kinzler Fuel Injection Services with an electric over manual 150 hilborn pump for easier starting and street use. The blower drive was designed and assembled by R&P Blower Services. Blower and all components are polished.

I also have a dual quad manifold with 750 AFB’s for the supercharger if you wanted to do serious street driving. The engine is backed up with a B&M Hydro Stick transmission and a super duty balanced driveshaft. I had a custom made high temp exhaust header system made with a dump close-off for the street.
