Oldsmobile Cutlass 1970 Description

Take a look at this beautiful 1970 Oldsmobile Rallye 350 brought to you by CARuso Classic Cars. This rare limited production car was only manufactured from January through June 1970 and only 2367 units of this particular Cutlass S hardtop model were built. This car is an all numbers matching authentic example with less than 24K miles and is in show condition. Originally from New Jersey and now owned by a former Oldsmobile Club president (second owner) this car has been meticulously maintained both mechanically and cosmetically and the condition is indicative of that care. The car has only been driven approximately 1500 miles since purchased in 2000 and it runs and drives beautifully.

This is a true Rallye 350 car with the W-45 Appearance Package which includes Belted Wide Oval tires a Force-Air fiberglass hood the 350 V-8 engine Custom Sport Steering Wheel Sport Mirrors Rallye-Sport Suspension Dual Exhaust Sebring Yellow Paint Black and Orange Body Decals Blacked-Out Grille Super Stock II Wheels Urethane-coated Bumpers. All of these items would have been included in a real Rallye 350 ordered from the factory. This particular example also has the optional Wheel Trim Rings which some dealers installed to dress up the look further.

The car is painted with the Sebring Yellow paint (Code 51) 95% of which is original. Rallye 350s have (- -) as the paint code on the cowl tag (pictured). The rear bumper has the 442 bumper with the cut-outs surrounding the chrome trumpet exhaust tips. At the bottom of the front fenders where there was minor bubbling sheet metal was welded in with minimal filler and is almost impossible to detect. The rest of the body is all original and has never been in a collision.

Exterior features include a trunk spoiler and full graphics package that includes special orange and black stripes accenting the hood fenders doors and outline of the rear window. All the glass on the car is in perfect condition with no chips or imperfections. All rubber components are solid and pliable.

The car is powered by its original numbers matching 350 C.I.D. 310 HP engine with a rebuilt Rochester Quadra jet carburetor. Engine compartment is very clean with a new battery and master cylinder and accented with all the factory correct engine compartment labeling. Transmission is the Turbo-Hydramatic 350 Auto with the optional console shift and 3.23:1 Rear. The car rides smoothly on its Rallye-Sport Suspension package which includes stiffer springs and anti-roll bars and the car sits on new Firestone Wide Oval tires (G70x14) which are accented by new trim rings and new center caps. Car is equipped with custom 2 ¼” exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers and new exhaust tips. Car also has a new fuel tank sending unit.

On the inside you’ll find the original black vinyl front bucket seats and rear seats in mint condition original carpeting AC AM-FM radio with optional rear speaker and beautiful woodgrain dash and accents throughout. The trunk is in excellent condition and features a new G70 spare and original jack as well as a new trunk liner.

Minor things needing attention are:

1. AC needs recharging

2. Console plastic hinge may need replacement

Additional literature included with the sale is the original Glove Box Wallet with Protect-o-Plate Owner’s Manual New Vehicle Warranty Consumer Information pamphlet and GM In-Transit Cards. Also available is a copy of the title from the original owner.
