Oldsmobile 442 1976 Description
1976 Oldsmobile 442. Numbers matching. 455 engine 400 Turbo H. (73-77 cutlass registry.com) this car is one of only 143 442's that had the last year of the 455 motor. Does not have very many options but it does have the big block a real rare option. The 442 package and the color combination are very appealing and will be stunning when restored. I’m selling it. Real shame… I lost my storage and will be moving out of state with two current restorations that I need to complete before the move. The 442 was a one owner car bought in Lubbock Texas and was between Texas and Oklahoma all of its life. I found the car 2 years ago where it had been sitting since 1996 it still has the 1996 emission sticker on the windshield and the 1996 Oklahoma registration. The car has 118000 original miles and I have records that show that the transmission was rebuilt at 78000 by Armco transmissions. To get it moving on his own for the start of the restoration I dropped the gas tank flushed and cleaned it replaced the fuel pump fuel filter service the engine and transmission. Replaced battery and battery cables spark plugs wires distributor rotor starter front rotors brakes and rear brakes. A new set of tires where mounted on his original 15-inch wheels. Engine is strong and sounds great. Does not smoke and/or overheats. It needs carburation (I’m not good on Quadra jets) and vacuum hose adjustments It has duel exhaust pipes and mufflers that run all the way back. The car is complete paint is original and you will not be diving in to someone else’s work This 442 has never seen any kind of sheet metal or bodywork done to it. It is 100% original with the exception of the fiberglass front clip that will need to be replaced again. Pictured)Other that the rears lower quarters and the rear trunk lid (that do not need to be replaced) there is no floor rust no frame rust. The underside is solid. There is sporadic rust here and there but does not need panel replacement except for the front clip. There is a hole on the rear deck (pictured) The passenger side hood is bent by the hinge and will need to be reinforced. (Pictured) Windshield has cracks and will need replacement the rest of the glass is in good condition The interior is complete but it needs total restoration. Fuel gauge does not work. A/C does not work. (For sure it needs compressor) all components are there. Needs shocks. It has its sheet metal VIN matching Numbers (3G37T6R148263) in placed along with its build sheet that was found under the gas tank. I have tried to the best of my knowledge to explain the condition please ask. I strongly encourage you to please call or e-mail to schedule a time to come and check it out drive it. I have a clear title with good plates until March 2018The price of the buy it now is $5500.00 I started low with a low reserve as I do need to (Unfortunately) sale it. I do reserve the right to void/cancel the ad as I will be selling it locally. Bidders if you are not holding a 100% feed back from eBay and/or are new please contact me if you are serious before you bid. Thank you for being interested. Hope all is well.
