Oldsmobile 442 1970 Description

1970 Oldsmobile 442 Pace Car

Real Deal “Y74” Pacer - 60561 miles

1 of 626 ever made

VIN 342670M300135

Very very rare. Purchased out of a collection from the west. One of only 626 total Pace Cars made in 1970 (358 were Cutlass models 268 were 442 models). This car is a real Y74 code Pacer as verified on the original trim tag under the hood. It is a Cutlass model Pace Car. The previous owner put in a 455 engine. The 442 emblems have been added to complete the look. I still have the original 350 engine that came with the car when new as well as all the Cutlass emblems (the original disassembled engine is included with the sale). The paint scheme on the car is unique to the 1970 Pace Car and is in excellent shape above average in my opinion and I am picky. The top is like new and it does have a power top.

This car runs and drives fantastic. The engine has no leaks whatsoever the engine and underside of the car is clean with no oil or dirt. The car has a 455 with aluminum intake headers and Flowmaster exhaust which sounds great. It has an automatic transmission with the Hurst “his-n-hers” dual gate shifter. The car has disc brakes and power steering. The interior appears to be original. Seats are in great shape with one small tear in the drivers seat at the seam. Door panels and carpet are in great condition. The floor mats are premium quality. The convertible top is in great shape. All safety items work on this car lights horns blinkers etc. Even the light in the trunk works and the key buzzer works. This car has factory air conditioning. It blows cold but will need recharging. The odometer shows 60580 miles not sure if original miles but appears it could be. The car has a full spare wheel with original jacking equipment in the trunk. I just installed a $200 brand new Optima red top battery. The car starts right up every time.

The Pace Car has the original radio in the dash but its not hooked up. Instead there is a hidden iPod stereo cable in the console that will play music from you iPod or phone. I also have the original very rare induction air cleaner setup that is included with the sale. Also included are original documents – magazine ad magazine article of the restoration of the No. 1 Pace car from the Indy 500 race a rare brochure an original 1970 Pace car festival program with a full page ad for the 70 Olds Pace Car and GM keys with Olds vintage key chain. The 1970 Texas license plates are not included but can be purchased by the winning buyer. Please look at the pictures and there is a short video link in this auction of the car driving.

These cars are very rare and seldom go up for sale. The condition of this car I feel is exceptional. This car is ready to drive and enjoy now. I am fairly certain that I will regret selling this car one day but will be out of storage space soon and need to sell a few cars. Please email me with any questions you might have. I encourage you to read my feedback selling cars as this is the best way to determine a good car sale on eBay.

Feel free to email me with any questions. This car will appreciate in value over the next several years and is better than money sitting in your bank account since you can enjoy the car while it appreciates (should appreciate faster than the interest from the loan for that matter). This is a great example of the 1970 Olds Pace Car. It is very hard to find an unmolested car like this… My reserve is very reasonable...so Bid early don’t miss out.
