Oldsmobile Toronado 1985 Description

Vehicle Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I persoanlly road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.

Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a very hard to find 1985 Oldsmobile Toronado coupe Caliente in very good condition. The Toronado was Oldsmobile's version of the Eldorado. I've always favored the Toronado over its siblings because the styling has always been slightly ahead of its more traditional counterparts. I would rate the exterior of this Toronado to be in EXCELLENT CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see this is a gorgeous coupe. It is finished in dark gray with matching interior and landeau top (specific to the Caliente package) with chrome exterior accents which really make the exterior pop. The gray finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle please don't expect it to be perfect. However you'd have to be pretty picky to find anything on the exterior worth complaining about. The only thing I saw that is even worth mentioning are a few small spots of rust under the doors (which can be seen in the photos). All of the exterior chrome shows well. The landeau top is in great condition. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The bumper fillers look good too. All four of the original wire wheel covers are present and show well. The tires are a matching set of Michellin's with deep tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how exceptional this Toronado looks.

I would rate the interior of this Toronado to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The wood interior accents look very good and indicate that this coupe has spent most of her life in a garage. The power windows locks seats and mirrors all work properly. The dash and headliner are clean. The carpets show a few stains as you'd expect but are thick and full looking throughout the cabin. The leather seats are clean supple and comfortable. The radio is original. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. The heater works as it should and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR too. The trunk is spacious and clean. Pride in ownership shows throughout this Oldsmobile. The previous owner of this Toronado is a lifetime member of the Oldsmobile club.

Mechanically this Toronado appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 307ci V8 starts easily and idles smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are great for a vehicle of this age. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. The brakes and steering feel good too. The engine makes good power and feels strong. There have been no idiot lights on and she keeps proper temperature. The only bad thing I can say is that you can hear a very slight exhaust leak if you listen close enough. It is probably just an aged gasket that isn't sealing completely. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly. Out on the highway she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. She'll easily cruise at 75-80mph without breaking a sweat. As with any older vehicle she would probably benefit from a routine tune up to be running at her best. These are getting harder and harder to find in this condition. If you've been looking to add one of these to your collection this one definitely deserves your consideration. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
