Oldsmobile Cutlass 1984 Description

Hello!

What I have here ismy 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass has a mild 455. Mellow Cam Edelbrock Performer intake, uadrajet carb andoriginal Oldsmobile high performance W Z exhaust manifolds with 2-1/2" pipes all the way back, urbo 400 transmission with a shift kit andKevelar clutches and mild 2200-2400 stall converter. Cross members modified so the exhaust doesn't hang. Also has an aluminium radiator- would recommend setting up some type of shroud or do what I was going to do and put an electric fan on. Emergency brake works good - rare with these older cars. Drive line has roughly 12-15k on it. No noises or rattles upon start-up. Holds good oil pressure. Does not give a big puff of smoke when you get on it go pass anyone - runs very smooth.

I drove this car roughly 5,000-6,000 miles - is fun to drive and gets lots of looks! Car is inspected and good until end of April.

Body is solid with no filler. Panels are straight with nice alignment but is showing some minor surface scale on a couple of areas. Doors are solid and have no holes. Might have a little pin hole on the trunk lip after blasting. Wheel wells, rame, uarter panels, ocker panels, and floors, tc.are mint!Paint job is poor with clear coat flaking and a couple of spots thatare worn down from thin paint.

Complete braking system (meaning wheel cylinders, alipers, heel bearings, ines, tc.), hocks and front suspension pieces (tie rods, all joints, tc.) was redone same as the drive line (12-15k). Car drives nice - does not pull, hake - rather smooth riding for what it is. Would put different springs in the front - like for a mid-80s 442, s the springs that are in it now are too heavy - car sits high in the front.

Fuel gauge is tempermental - poor ground in the back. The only reason for the aftermarket tach is I installed to check to see how accurate the factorytach was and yes, t's accuratebutwill be removed prior to sale, s it's from one of my other cars. Also has 3 Sunpro gauges in the dash where the window defogger switch - nice and neat and yes, hey all work as well. Has a Hurst dual-gate shifter - should be adjusted. Also will not engage in park - believe it's an adjustment but can't guarantee.

Interior is blue buckets - tracks work flawlessly, ut drivers seat has a small hole in it, onsole, allye dash - some of the lights do not work (typical with these) butall gauges work except temp, ot hooked up tosensor on intake. You will need to supply. Rest of interior is nice with a little fading, rimarily on the B pillars. Dash isnot destroyed but does have a couple of minor cracks. The power windows work, he power door locks do not work. The cruise control and air conditioning are not hooked up. The AC would be easy to re-install, s the box was not destroyed (which is what happens to most of these cars). Has an old-style 442 steering wheel in it - look good and tilt is tight. New headliner.

Now for the bad. Wipers are function on a toggle switch - are not hooked up because it needs the correct rods. Right before being put up for winter storage, the blower motor quick functioning. Again, on't engage in park - believe it's an adjustment but no guarantees. Should have a high-torque starter as original starter does not like turning it over when it's hot. Rear end should be upgraded - is not a posi. Should have being dialled in fully, s a discoloration on the quarter panels show that it's running rich. Do not recommend filling the overflow tube, s the aftermarket radiator sits higher than the original and when filled, t goes out the overflow onto the inner fender. Car does not run hot. Believe will need a battery.
