Oldsmobile Other 1940 Description
1940 Oldsmobile Four door Sedan You are viewing a nice Street Rod perfect for long trips and hauling another couple or the grandkids around. The build was finished in 99 with 39. 42 miles driven since the build was finished. Always maintained and garage kept. The car runs and drives excellent. Please read on for more particulars of the car: Body/Paint: The car began as a good original car that ran and drove. The body had minimal rust with only a couple spots that were repaired. Rear doors are suicide. The body was acid dipped to remove all paint. Multiple coats of primer and blocking were done to get the body very straight. The paint is a very pretty shade of red base/clear. With a few small chips that have been repaired in the front. A small area by the lower hinge on the driver’s door has a defect with possibly a little rust starting (have picture). The paint is very clean and shows really well. It is a very good looking car. Functioning cowl vent. After market steel 16 gallon gas tank. Interior: The interior was done with donor front seats from another full size olds with ¾ split buckets done in cloth with original design. Rear seat is stock to the car covered in the same material. The front seats are 6 ways power that work well and very comfortable for long drives. PS and PB. Set up for AC and installed. but compressor and condenser was never installed. Vintage air. Compressor and condenser would have to be purchased. installed and charge for the system to be operational. Gauges are VDO. speedo (with trip meter). volt. fuel. temp and oil pressure. Column shift. No cruise. Emergency brake works. Goodguys safety check certificate. Single disc CD player with 4 speakers. Running Gear: 79 403 Olds engine rebuilt at time of the build in stock configuration. The transmission is a TH 350 out of the same low mileage donor car. Runs and shifts like it should. Rear end is a GM 10 inch with hiway gears out of the same donor car. Good gas mileage. Suspension: Front clip is a late 70’s rear steer drag link welded to the original frame. The frame was totally restored with the rear coil spring suspension as stock with front and back sway bars added. Brake booster and power steering from the same car. New shocks. Bright work: Original stainless is in overall good condition with some small signs of age. but very presentable. Glass: The glass was all replaced and tinted. The windshield was butted. Exhaust: Dueled off with 2/14 inch pipe and Flow Master type mufflers. Sounds good. Installed two years ago. Brakes: Front Disc with drum rear. Fronts are GM from the same car that donated the front clip. Rears are GM. Third brake light. Wheels/Tires: 205/60 15 front and 235/60 15 rear BF Goodrich. Wheels are Cragars. Recent work done on the car: All has been done in the last two years with less than 5K miles. Exhaust. front brake pads. new tires. Summary: The car is a great cruiser for having fun with the family and excellent road car that is very reliable. I have over 100 pictures of the car so please contact me and provide your email address if you would like additional pictures. Reasonable price so why build when you can enjoy today. Great value and a quality build for the money. Disclaimer: The car is for sale locally. The owner has the right to cancel the auction at any time for any reason.
