Ready to have fun this summer
This 62 F-85Convertible is ready for summer cruising or car shows. It has the original, freshly rebuilt, 215 aluminum V8, the same engine sold to Land Rover and used for 40 years, upgraded with a four barrel Edelbrock carburetor, electronic ignition, electric fan, high torque starter and alternator. The car always brings a lot of attention because it is so rare. It has been repainted but has some scratches and flaws, a good 20 footer, but has new top and boot cover. The transmission has been updated to a newer Pontiac 700r4 automatic with a column shift as the original Oldsmobile transmission was always a weak point for this car. D&D Fabrications, an expert in this engine, provided the conversion kit. The dash and steering wheel is original including the Oldsmobile emblems. The interior seats, carpet and side panels are all new. The uncut dash has the original buttons, working instruments and an aftermarket stereo. Mechanically this Oldsmobile is solid and has all new wiring, brakes and brake lines, Holley electric fuel pump, front seat belts and larger wheels and new tires. The heater core started to leak so it is bypassed for now but easily fixed and the power top has new hydraulic lines but the original pump needs to be replaced. I just manually lift the top. The suspension is original but has new shocks, new exhaust and the original rear gears. It is a great cruiser. It is still a fifty year old car so it is not perfect, just a fun driver. Please see the photos and thank your for looking.
