4-door sedan with 46,700 miles from new in Spring, 1949. Twice judged HPOF AACA ORIGINAL (Historical Preservation of Original Features Antique Automobile Club of America Original), their strictest award of authentic condition. Rocket 303 c.i. V-8 OHV 135 hp engine with Hydra-Matic fully-automatic 4-speed transmission. Factory full-flow oil filter and oil-bath air cleaner. Clean engine compartment. Original cloth trunk lining in good shape. No rust. Solid, no squeaks or rattles. Lively performance at all speeds. Looks and runs great. Shiny brightwork and original Metal Gray Metallic paint. Nice clean Bedford Cord medium-gray upholstery with no rips, tears, or stains. Radio, heater, and defroster. Lap-type seat belts added front and rear, and rubber floor covering has been replaced with matching gray carpet. Factory electro-mechanical clock has been overhauled and keeps perfect time. Factory pushbutton radio retains original appearance all over, but its internals now have AM-FM solid-state electronics and new, built-in speaker. Diamond Back brand www radial tires with only 3900 miles of wear. Owned over 7 years by senior citizen with health problems, thus this offer of sale. Owned by two families prior, both in vicinity of York, PA. Assembled at GM-Fisher Body plant in Wilmington, DE. Besides the tires, the brake linings, battery, belts, hoses, etc., have been replaced over the years. Engine oil changed and chassis lubed 50 miles ago. Everything working except trunk lamp (may need new mercury switch), one of the two speeds on defroster blower, and the left turn-signal indicator lamp in instrument cluster (but all four outside direction signals work). Has been driven to antique car shows for 150-425 mile same-day round trips with no problems. Owner's, shop, and Fisher Body manuals, with California Car Cover, included. VIN is 498W2642.
