Oldsmobile Cutlass 1979 Description

Listed for sale is a 1979 two door Cutlass Salon Brougham. This is the first one of these that I have ever seen in person. This was the body style that the 442 Option was based off for 1979. The over condition of this car makes me belive the 50,482 miles is correct. However the title reads exempt and that is how it is being sold. The body of the car does have a few bumps and bruises. Most noticabe are the gold colored painted areas that were done by a previous owner. No one knows why. The one on the hood area looks to have a small amount of bondo on it. The area on the passenger side rear area does not appear to have any bondo at all. I belive that areas of this car have had some paint respray, however this car is virtually rust free. The frame is clean as are the floor boards. I do not see any rust on the lower fendors or quarters. There are few areas of surface rust where there are some rock chips, but these are minor. The interior is very clean The dash has a few small cracks but is in very good condition. The drivers seat looks to have one small hole on the seat bottom. The rest of the seats are in very good shape. They could probably use a good cleaining. The door panels are in good shape overall as are the back seat panels, although some of the palstic panels are a little dry. The carpet is new. This car has the optional 305 V-8 with a 4 barrell carb. The car runs and shifts well, but would benifit from a tune-up and carb rebuild as it has been sitting for quite a while. The motor fires right up and does not smoke. The items I know that need to be addressed are: Horn does not work, rally gages are not currently working, there is no radio currnetly in the car. I do have two dash bezels so you can go with the factory look or get a modern one. The A/C blows but it is not cold The compressor is not locked up. It looks as though ther is a small oil leak at the area of the rear main seal. This is more than likely for not being driven very much. The winning bidder will also receive a set of 14" original wheels and tires with the orignal hup caps. The tires are in very good shape. I aslo have a few other spare parts that will go with the car. I have a clear Texas title in my name. Please do not hestitate to contact me with any questions. Bidders with less than a 5 feedback need to contact me in advance before bidding. thank you
