Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight 1992 Description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.

Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a hard to find 1992 Oldsmobile 98 Regency Elite with just 138k original miles. The 98 was the flagship of the Oldsmobile brand and was the sister car of the Buick Park Avenue. I would rate the exterior of this Oldsmobile to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this isa good looking sedan. It is finished in classic white and gray two tone over plush blue velour interior. As you can see, this is a great looking sedan. Pride in ownership shows throughout this flagship Oldsmobile. The finish has a deep shine and looks as smooth as glass all around. As with any older vehicle, please expect to find a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific Olds, there is nothing noteworthy to report. All of the body cladding is clean and tight. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The white wall tires have average tread all around. These cars are next to impossible to find still in exceptional, original condition. Most are either used up and worthless or have barely any miles and people want a fortune for one. Here is agreat example of a nice driver, used sparingly and kept in remarkable condition.

I would also rate the interior of this Olds to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets are thick and full looking throughout the interior. The dash and headliner are clean, too. The velour seats are very soft and comfortable...like driving your living room down the road. The power windows, locks, seats and mirrors all appear to be working properly. The only thing I found that didn't work was the unlock side of the drivers door power lock button. The audio system is original and sounds good. There are steering wheel audio and climate control buttons so your hand never has to come off of the wheel. Two of the button covers have fallen off, which is common as these age. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. Due to the recent mild temperatures, I cannot tell if the air conditioner is in working order...so assume it'll need a charge for next season. Rear seat room is very generous, as is trunk room. As I mentioned earlier, pride in ownership shows throughout this Oldsmobile. It comes with two sets of keys, the original owners books and even the wheel lock key...still in it's little holder in the trunk. Please take your time to check out each of the photos carefully to see how exceptionally clean this full sized Oldsmobile sedan looks.

Mechanically, this 98 appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 3.8L V6 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. The 3.8L V6 is one of the best engines in the history of GM. It saw service from the mid 80's straight through the mid-00's...which is an impressive service length for an engine platform. They are known to be nearly indestructible. The check engine light is on. Being an older car with OBD1 level diagnostics, I cannot retrieve a code to tell you what it is as my scan tool will not communicate with something this old. The idle wonders up and down a little, but the car drives as it should with no issues. The big V6 makes plenty of power and feels strong. She keeps perfect temperature at all times. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts perfectly with no issues. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with no complaints. You can feel a slight vibration in the wheel at highway speeds, but nothing terrible...it may just be old tires or an out of balance wheel. I'd drive this car anywhere. In fact, I've put over 100 miles on it myself with absolutely no problems. She has a current PA safety and emissions inspection good through the end of August, 2017. She's had the same owner since 2001 and 50k miles. If you've been looking for one of these, you know how often a nice driver comes along. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
