Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight 1963 Description
1963 Olds 98, Spectacular Survivor with only 39k MilesThe Ninety-Eight is Oldsmobile's full-size top-of-the-line model. The name 98 derives from a Series 90 car powered by an 8 cylinder motor. As the flagship for Oldsmobile, the Ninety-Eight always enjoyed the best and the newest technology, as well as the premium interior and exterior trim packages.
Standard equipment for the Oldsmobile 98 in 1963 included a die-cast front grille, deep pile carpeting, 21-gallon fuel tank, full-flow oil filter, foam seat cushions, foot-operated parking brake, two-speed windshield wipers, special molding package, deluxe steering wheel, map light, heavy duty air cleaner, courtesy lights, Roto Hydramatic transmission, power brakes, power steering, special rocker panel moldings, self-regulating electric clock, dual rear seat cigarette lighters and special headliner.
This particular model also includes factory original power windows, power seat adjustments, and air conditioning. It truly was top-of-the-line at the time, and it remains so today in its amazing condition. The white lacquer paint has only the slightest few blemishes, which testify to its originality, and seems whiter than modern cars, perhaps because there's so much of it. We threw a tape measure down alongside the car and measured almost nineteen feet--about the same as the Empire State Building.
This car is a survivor of the highest order, and still rides luxuriously--stately, even, with a dignitary's big presence and power--no need to flex it, but it's there when you want it. Soak up the approving glances, and shrug off the accolades when you park it with practiced ease.
