Oldsmobile Cutlass 1972 Description

THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION
I am the 4th owner of this Cutlass. It was sold new at Dan Burns Oldsmobile, Delray Beach, FL on October 4, 1971. I have the original owner's manual, Protect-O-Plate and warranty booklet. According to the title documents the 2nd owner had the car for 27 years (1975 - 2002). I was told by the 3rd owner the engine had been re-built before he bought it. I bought it from the 3rd owner in January 2006.
It was then disassembled and sent to the body shop for 3 months and about $6000 of paint and body restoration. Since it had Ziebart rustproofing when new the only issue was rust in the front floor pans. There are 4 pictures from the body shop, one showing the front pans after repair. I have always kept the car garaged and the finish is still very good with the exception of 4 small area where the paint has chipped. Photos of those are included. The top frame was removed and sandblasted and painted also.
Mechanically it is very sound and runs great. I serviced the transmission replacing the filter and pan gasket. The front suspension has been rebuilt with parts from PST, 4 KYB shocks, front rotors and pads, new dual exhaust system, alternator, heater control valve, tune up with a Pertronix ignition system installed.
The cooling system has been gone through with new radiator, water pump, thermostat, fan clutch, hoses, belts and NOS heater core. The a/c was converted to R134 before I bought it and I had it charged a few years ago. There is a leak somewhere as it didn't blow cold after about 48 hours, but all of the components are intact.
The front seat was re-padded and a correct new (front seat only) upholstery kit installed along with new carpet. The rest of the interior is original. The carpet on the front doors has faded and there is wear on the driver's side panel.
The tires have about 95% tread left but were installed in 2009. No visible dry rot but they are are probably too old for sustained high speed driving.
The top was replaced in '08 - '09 along with a new glass window, top well, pads and weatherstripping. At that time I also installed a new top switch, motor, hydraulic pump and lines and new cables.Original top boot is with the car but needs some work. I think reproductions are around $150.00. The top stilllooks and operates as new.
The power windows and seat operate as they should and the AM/FM Stereo was reconditioned and new front and rear speakers installed. I also replaced the windshield along with door, sill molding and trunk weatherstripping. Receipts for parts/labor will go to the new owner.
It is a very nice driver quality Oldsmobile that is not perfect by any means. The "to do" list includes replacing the glove box liner (included), the top motor cover (included), door hinges (included). The speedometer cable squeaks and the carburetor could probably benefit from a re-build because I don't drive it often enough. I am also including a car cover, service, chassis and assembly manuals as well as extra wheel center caps, tail light lenses and many other small parts.
This is a 45 year old car so it is being sold as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. The winner bidder is responsible for all shipping arrangements.
Please feel free to ask any questions and if you want to see the car I can make it available to any bidder or their agent by appointment.
Good luck bidding and thank you for looking!
