Oldsmobile Cutlass 1985 Description
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen! As the summer months are quickly approaching, it's getting to be prime time for a convertible, and I've got just the one for your consideration!Up for auction is a 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera Brougham Convertible! This vert sports all your modern luxuries including power windows, power seats, power top, power antenna, power locks, power everything! It has the extremely desirable and comfortable Brougham leather interior! I have a C and E-Class Mercedes and I can honestly say that this car is just as, if not more, comfortable then they are! A true testament to the Cutlass Brougham line of Oldsmobile.
Now a little history on how this Convertible came to be. Basically, Oldsmobile did not produce this car as a convertible. These cars were brought to a company called Hess & Eisenhardt as standard coupes. It was at Hess & Eisenhardt's factory that they did all the necessary modifications to convert the coupes into convertibles. Relatively speaking, these are collectable cars. Very few were ever made and they are few and far between. You'd be hard pressed to find another one in good condition that you can drive home today!
With all this being said, I must admit, this is not a show car by any means. I consider this a good summer toy! It has some rust here and there, scratches, dings/dents, paint blemishes, etc. It's 30 years old and it's been enjoyed it's whole life. Being a rare antique vehicle, it would be a good candidate for a restoration. Or you can do what I did and just enjoy it! Engine starts right up and transmission shifts fine. One of the hydraulic lift supports for the top is leaking slightly. I just recently added fluid to the system to maintain a proper level. At some point the lift should be rebuilt/resealed. There are several companies that can perform this service for you. There is a dent by the gas filler door. Rust on the inside of the front fenders under the hood. Rust above windshield that is hidden when the top is up. All the above mentioned is displayed in the photos. Be advised that it is inspected in PA until end of June. Will pass no problem. Has good tires and good brakes!
All in all this is a great car that can fit 4 people comfortably and is old enough to register as an antique and get discounted insurance. This is your chance to own one of the few of these that are left in good running condition! Also, if you are in the market for a convertible, for the money this is your best bet. It's extremely affordable for what all you get. All you have to do is sit in it and drive it with the top down once, and you'll fall in love. Believe me, I hate that I have to part with it, but I simply have too many cars and not enough free time to keep them all going.
If you have any questions please let me know. Vehicle is available for inspection by appointment. $500 deposit due within 48 hours. Remaining payment and pick up of vehicle due withing 10 days of auction ending. Vehicle sold as-is! No warranties expressed or implied! Thanks for looking and good luck!
