Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight 1970 Description

Hello eBay community!
Here's a ONE OWNER (technically), 1970 Oldsmobile 98 convertible, loaded with all the rare options (a/c, cruise, power locks, inside hood release, nite-watch, tilt/telescoping, am/fm, and had an 8-track, where the modern CD player is, a nice mod, I think, as it plays well). 101K original miles, solid as a bank vault! Read my description and check my feedback, been on eBay a long time, have bought and sold many cars here, very experienced and knowledgeable. I'm not going to tell you this is the best one in the world, or that value in collector cars is in color/condition, etc. I'll let my pictures andsuccinct writing get the point across. I'm not a dealer, just a fellow old car nut. First, this was (is) a one-owner specimen. You can see from my feedback that I just bought this car. I've not transferred the title, and neither did the previous owner. I imagine he was looking to make a quick buck on the car, as the title was signed on the 24th of May, 2016 (by the way, he was probably one of the most forthright and nicest sellers I've ever met via eBay). I plan to leave it as is, for the next purchaser. I'm not looking to make any money here, just re-coup my investment. My eyes were bigger than my ability to house/store cars. The "buy-it-now" represents a good buy, and I have an even lower reserve. It' worth noting that I've done nothing in terms of detailing/cleaning up this Oldsmobile 98...I simply ran it through a drive-through the car wash...it really looks this good! (No water leaks either - incredible)! I bought this car, and flew into Springfield, IL. I proceeded to drive this car back to Des Moines, IA,a distance of 340 miles (listing to "Dark side of the Moon," among others, on the CD player). This Oldsmobile seems to get an unbelievable 20+mpg (I know, I still don't believe it, but I burned 15 gallons)! This is the ONLY car this old I've ever bought in my life that ran and drove this well (perfect brakes, tires, and exhaust too). Cold a/c, andCD playerplaying all the way back. Good top that works perfectly, good working power windows, good rubber/weather stripping). The interior looksvery nicethrough-out (no cracks in dash either). This car runs and drives so well, it's amazing! When you come to a stop, it's so quite and smooth, you'd think the engine has died. Not only has this carNOT dripped/leaked any fluids, ithasNOT burned one drop of oil, in the 600+ miles I've driven it in the last couple days(again, never seen anything like this)! This is probably the best car I've ever bought on eBay! Why sell it? Lol, after getting home - I realized I have way too many cars. Not a concourse car, as the original owner moved to FL and could no longer drive; there are two minor dings, one by the driver's rear side marker and on the lower side of the passenger door, both easily rectified via paint-less dent repair. I find it hard to believe this is a mid-west car, as the bumpers are about perfect and no rust/rot is to be found in the floors or body. I'm thinking this was not driven in the winter. The other side of this, is because it's not a CA car, it doesn't have the pollution control equipment. I can tell you this car gets better gas mileage, and runs smoother/more powerfully than my 27K mile California 1970 98 convertible does! I literally could not stop anywhere without people descending on the car offering compliments. I think it's a combination of the beautiful 'chestnut-metallic' paint and 'pearl white' interior (by the way, white is the ONLY interior color to have in a convertible)! These cars are getting impossible to find in this kind of condition. There's a lot of junk out there that are total wrecks... Questions/comments/concerns: Don't hesitate to e-mail me questions, or call - 515-988-9405: Tony. I think this car will sell very quickly. Please don't hesitate!
